I finished my first square of clue 2. There are a few obvious problems with it but I am not worried. Two of the biggest problems are on the row when I dropped a stitch I was in the process of tinking and once I fixed the stitch I had forgotten I was going backwards, not forwards, so you can see the mistake. The other problem might be fixed and become unnoticable during construction. It is lopsided? No idea how that happened. Oh well, I dare anyone who sees this finished afghan in person to do better if they say anything and were not a knitter! It is sitting on my 9.5" template.
Thanks for all the tips.

Good going, karenarp! Quirks are what make our projects unique and they also create memories for us to recall later. I just wonder what tales we will have to tell in 10 years' time about this project when snuggling up in our afghans! I know I will remember conversing with people from all over through a forum, and this is the first project I'm doing in over 10 years that I will not be giving away but keeping for myself!

 Thanks.

The pain is actually getting worse again this morning. :(
So, I called my dentist to get a different antibiotic prescription.
He just called it in, so I'll go to the pharmacy in an hour, to give it a try.

Wish me luck!

I certainly do! Is it an abcess going on down in there? Sounds just so painful and I wish for you that you had emergency endodentists available on week-ends! Just a little more than a day to go for you now...

Yeah, I think it is. I took my new antibiotic an hour ago, and I'm feeling okay right now. While I was at the pharmacy, I bought lots of beverages that were on sale, and two boxes of liquid nutrition shakes. I also got some Listerine, to help rinse my mouth after brushing. Maybe I can help kill this crazy bacteria.

I have just finished my first Clue #2 square. The width works fine with just a tiny stretch. However, I had calculated approx 58 rows according to the gauge, seemed a little short so worked 60 rows. Still think I could have added a few extra rows.

Has anyone counted their rows for Clue 2. Please let me know your row count. Thanks

I knitted 84 rows! However, I am also using a size 6 U.S. needle to get the gauge. This makes it the right size for me. ;)

I always tell people that the mistakes prove it was homemade. LOL

And mine comes out at 68 rows with 4.5 mm needles. When I did the little stretch for width I needed to add one last set of the two-row pattern. On the back I count 34 long stockinette stitches per column in the shape of à "v".
