an increase is knitting TWICE into the same stitch. When they say knit below, they mean skip the next stitch in current row but KNIT INTO THE STITCH directly below it from the last row. You then move one to the NEXT stitch in the current row...
hope that helps!

Think I will be using my row counter for these blocks. This way once the first is worked to the right size I will
be able to tell how many rows I will need to make the rest so they are all the same size.

After this clue you can say goodbye to your friend, Contrast B

Lairy wrote:Now here is the question I have when reading the pattern -- "Rep last 2 rows for pat until Block measures 9½" [24.5 cm], ending with a 2nd row of pat." I am having trouble reading this section. I know "pat" means pattern --- but what does it mean to repeat for pattern, and what does it mean to end with a 2nd row of pattern? Or Ending with 2 rows of pattern does that mean 2 rows of knit or 2 rows of the K1below row?! Or simply ending the square with the K1 below row?
Any help for this knitting newbie would be greatly appreciated!
