You can do it!

I still haven't tried to knit an aran sweater, but it's on my list of things to accomplish.

I like this pattern:

I also want to knit another Fair-Isle sweater, like this:

I have other knitting and crochet dreams, and I WILL accomplish them!

KAL clue#2

Postby cactusneedles » Mon Feb 27, 2012 8:40 pm

What am I doing wrong? I have tried this about 5 or 6 times and on my second row when I knit below it looks like I have dropped a stitch and have a big hole. I consider myself an intermediate knitter but this has me stumped. Help!

Thanks for asking! :)
My appointment with the endodontist went very well. He did the root canal, and was able to save my crown! :D

All the pain is erased, and I took a long 5 hour nap this afternoon, with no pain at all. Wonderful :cloud9:

Now, I just have to finish taking all my antibiotics, so the infection doesn't come back.
And it will be a few days before I can eat normal food again.

As soon as that tooth feels strong enough, I'm gonna have the biggest steak I've ever had before!
Watch out everybody at Outback Steakhouse! Shandeh is COMING THROUGH!

YAY!! I'm SO happy for you!! I've been praying for you! Glad to hear the great news! :D

Shandeh, thank you so much for the tinking video! I watched it once, then I did it with you. I get it now: you have to reknit the k1 below stitches to restore it to the ordinary knit stitch it was on the previous row. Having the crochet hook really helps, too.

Also, loved your Cable Yoke Sweater and want to make it! Does the Bernat Roving break easily? Could that pattern be made with Softee Chunky?

Thanks and glad you are feeling better!

Re: How many rows ?

Postby tootie » Mon Feb 27, 2012 11:43 pm

I'm finding it very difficult to count my rows....I forgot to start my row counter on the end of my needle, and I don't always remember to change it after I finish a row. Is each 'v' equivalent to 2 rows? Normally it is one row, but since we are picking up the stitch below, does that make it 2 rows?
I KNOW I've knit more that 36 rows, but that's how many 'v's I count from top to bottom.

Yes, on the wrong side the 'v' stitches do equal two rows. If you count the 'v' stitches on the right side, you will have actual row count.
