Shandeh - where in California is your sister? My brother moved to L.A. about 4 months ago. When he finally gets settled I am going to hang out on the opposite coast! I showed my 7 year old on the map where we are in Virginia to where his uncle is in Cali. So exciting!!!

It is nice to see what the first 1/2 of the square is supposed to look like. I am using a heavily variegated yarn for that part and there is no way to tell what the pattern is. I guess it is not the best choice yarn for this section, but I do not plan to rip it out as I am tired of "do overs".

Success, finally. It is a tiny bit small, but after multiple restarts, I will live with it. It does stretch easily to the correct proportions. I am calling it my Christmas square. It was even more apparent while I was knitting it on gold colored needles.

Finished my first square of clue 3. It's done with bark and colonial beige although you can't tell from the picture.

Oops. looking at other people's squares, I can see my mistake. But I like tge way it looks so I'm going to make the same mistake on all of them. I forgot to knit a row when I changed colors.
