Wow.... Clue #3 already... I'm only halfway through clue #1. This is going to take me forever....

Was so excited to get started on clue 3. Got the clue printed then life got in the way. Probably won't get to do any knitting until Friday (tomorrow night if I am lucky)! :tears:

I think I am having the same issue. I have 43 stitches and the length of it is the same as my others for Clue 1. I don't know whether I should continue knitting or just switch over to my other color. I am hemming and hawing over it. I don't want to rip it all out! ugh.

My first side also came out bigger. I hope it's a small enough difference that I can fit it in. Will wait 'til later to decide if I'll re-do. I am switching to smaller kneedles for the first half of the next square.

The first half has purl stitches, and the second half has none. This might explain part of the size issue. Some knitters make their purl stitches larger than their knit stitches.

Need some colour mixing advice:
I have only finished one square of clue one so I have the option of switching my choices for Contrast B & C.

They are all Waverly Yarns: Classic Navy (Contrast A), Greek Sea (B or C), Black (B or C), Beautiful Blue (Contrast D), Incense Red (Contrast E).

I personally don't like the mix of Greek Sea and Incense Red, but my Mom says it looks good, whereas she doesn't like the mix of Greek Sea and Beautiful Blue....thought I should get some other opinions. It is a gift for a little boy so I am not too sure he will care ;)

Though I am thinking that it would be better to use the black in the plainer clue 1 than in the pattern for clue 3...

I think that a boy would like the black and red together in the same square.
(I had 3 little boys, who are all now grown up.)

I'm doing clue 3 of the KAL very slowly and carefully. (This is a bit of a change for me.)

8 squares again?!?! I finished 1 clue 3 square. Clue 1 is done and I have 3 more clue 2 squares to finish. I think I will finish those this week before anymore clue 3 squares. I'd hate for clue 4 to come out and I'm still working on two weeks worth of clues!

i followed the pattern and my square ended up over an inch larger than the others, so i'm going to have to swallow my pride and rip it all out. :tears: i am such a slow knitter, so i hate to undo any work, but this square is way too big.

like some others have suggested, i'm going to go down a needle size for the first half and see if that is enough... all of my previous squares have been pretty consistent using the suggested size 8 needles, so here's hoping.
