I think I can just keep going until I reach 55 and be okay....What do you lovely ladies think? I wonder if I somehow increased on a wrong side row.....which doesn't make sense either!

51 should be 11.
53 will be 9 and
55 will be 11. You end on 11, so you are all set. :bravo:

Yep, 53 is somehow ended up a 11...cannot figure out how or when for the life of me! Ripping back would be okay if I could pinpoint where it all went pearshaped!

:tears: Bummer!!!! That stinks. I almost had to tear out one of mine last night...I had less than 10 rows to go, and I think my mother-in-law knocked some stitches off and then tried to pick them up, anyway, they were all tangled and I couldn't even get them to undo at first...they were taut. Finally, I was able to get out about 10 stitches and pick back up. I was so relieved. :bravo:

I finished my Clue 4 squares last night, so now I have to finish Clues 1 & 3. I know I am behind, but so be it. At least I still have a bunch of 3 left and can use the corrected pattern. That will be helpful. I played around with the needles and tension so much I wasn't really sure where I ended up.

I just finally finished week 1 blocks and starting week 4 this week. The only way I have been able to survive my first mystery afghan in my crazy household is by doing a spreadsheet to layout my rows. I can highlight as I go so I will always know where I left off even if it is days before I can pick it back up. Can anyone tell me if I have listed out the top of the pattern correctly? I will be repeating rows 8-11 (11x) until 55 stitches.
Row Stitch Stitch count
1 K1. P1. K1 3
2 K3 3
3 K1. P1. K1 3
4 Inc 1st 2 stiches. K1. 5
5 K2.P1.K2 5
6 Inc 1st. K2. Inc 1. K1. 7
7 K2. K1below. P1. K1below. K2 7
8 Inc 1st. K until last 2 st. Inc 1. K1. 9
9 K2. (P1. K1below) until last 3 stitches. P1. K2 9
10 Inc 1st. (K) until last 2 stitches. Inc 1. K1. 11
11 K1. (P1. K1below) until last 2 stitches. P1. K1 11

Thank you for the help!

Block 4

Postby luvstakwilt » Fri Mar 23, 2012 12:37 pm

Is anyone having a problem with the first part of block 4? I go along fine and then when I have added on enough stitches to get to about row 20 I loose the ribbed look? Any ideas of what I'm doing wrong? I have frogged this block multiple times and end up with the same look each time. Your help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

You can see the official finished images on this page, which might help you to see how they should look.

I will pull out the clue and knit a sample, to try to answer your question.

Are you repeating rows 8, 9, 10, and 11?

Just to be safe I put a piece of yarn on the needle that will have the changing row. So if I see the piece of yarn on the needle that's holding the stitches I know that's a changing row. Otherwise I would have ripped a dozen times over.
