How is it going for the top and bottom borders? I like the side borders so much that I am thinking up a way to do the same for top and bottom. I have extra yarn so we'll see if I can figure something out.

The top border is going fine. I happen to LOVE seed stitch. Once you get a rhythm going it goes very quickly. I picked up the stitches and knit one row last night. This morning I knit a few more rows before leaving the house. My dark brown color sure doesn't show off the patterning as well as the lighter colored yarns that have been posted but up close it is beautiful. It will definitely be done this weekend. But I still have an amazing number of loose ends to weave in uggghhhh....Happy Easter! :knit:

Wow. So many people are going so fast. I must be in a parallel universe this week!
Don't know how much I'll get done this week-end, but making a spiral ham and won't be slaving in the kitchen. Have Fri and Mon off, so lots of extra time. Happy Easter to you too!

Just a tip (and this may be common knowledge for most) but before you sew on your border it is helpful to pin it in place starting with the very edges, then the middle, and then in between those spaces so you can just concentrate on your sewing and not on easing or stretching it to fit. While I worked on the afghan laying on my lap it reminded me how very soft and lovely the Waverly yarn is and how great it will be when it is complete and ready for snuggling under on cooler nights! :D

Wow, Marilyn58! :bravo: Your afghan is beautiful!! I love it!!

Thanks!!!

Ok, folks.....I am happy to report that I now have my first border done and am almost ready to begin sewing it on! I even had to unpick twice in the last two squares this morning, knitting quietly before everyone is awake and distracting me! How am I ever going to switch to the reverse in my automatic mind and get away with it? Here are layout photos and I'm quite pleased with the looks of it.
