I consider myself a beginner knitter. I can knit, purl, cast on and cast off. I can decrease and increase but nothing any fancier. I am wondering if this is too much for me. I love to crochet and did the crochet a long last year. loved it. So if I can do this with all your help, I think I will love knitting also. :idonno:

I'm getting very excited about this. The biggest thing I've ever knitted was a baby afghan several years ago. Am currently working on a simple shawl and leg warmers. I was in my local Joann Fabrics store today and they had a limited selection of the Waverly yarn. I'm going to have to order it to get enough in the right colors. I'm so glad I saw the yarn in person to see the true colors before ordering. The yarn is gorgeous! I will be going with the Simplicity Collection.

You know all you need to know to get going on the knitted blanket. If any new techniques are used, Bernat will provide LOTS of resources to help you understand and accomplish the stitches. You can do it!

Couldn't agree more with Shandeh (what a pretty name). I started out last year doing the "Mystery Crochet" afghan, never having crocheted before and got raving compliments on the finished item. Made me feel really good too. I had only knitted until then and now I love crocheting just as much.

By the Shandeh how do you get all the coloured balls of wool?

Thanks! I made up the name actually. My real name is Sandy. I've been enamored of Sean Connery ever since I was a teenager. I always imagined that if I ever met him, I would say, "Hello there! My name is Sandy!", and he would reply, "Nice to meet you, Shandeh!"

I was a beginning crocheter at the last mystery event also! I was very proud of my completed baby blanket, using Bernat Baby Coordinates Chunky.

Are you talking about the purple yarn balls under my photo?
Bernat did that for me, since I'm moderating this little part of their world. :cloud9:

You'll also notice that the admins Jen and Kaleigh have colored yarn balls under their avatar as well.

I think the yarn balls for everyone else will change as time goes by, according to the number of posts you make in the forum.

OK I'm in! I even bought the yarn online. What a job choosing colors! But I did it!

I'm a crocheter but I really want to knit so I'm going for the KAL. Really looking forward to this. I will probably need lots of :helpme:

I have always wanted to make a fall colors afghan so this is it. Have fun :knit: everybody!
