Blogging the CAL/KAL

Postby WildKnitter » Mon Feb 06, 2012 1:07 pm

I was thinking of blogging about my progress as we go through the CAL...are there any hard and fast rules on this? I wasn't planning on giving away future clues. I figured, as I completed each section, I'd write about my progress...

You're more than welcome to write about the CAL in your blog! You can even send us a link, we'd love to see it :)

My suggestion is to include "spoiler" sections in posts where somebody would have to scroll down to see the actual photos of your progress, so they aren't spoiled. If anybody else has a suggestion about how this would work, let us know!

Wildknitter, I'm doing the same thing!

Jeepers Kaleigh, I'm so glad you brought up the spoilers point! I hadn't even thought about that. I've already started a little newbie crochet blog where I had decided to do the same thing that Wildknitter is suggesting.

During the CAL, are the photos of the previous week's clue given at the time of the new clue? I just assumed this was the case, and was going to post my progress photo once the CAL forum had revealed the clue on the forum. But I guess, for those who may not have completed it, or need more time, it would be a good idea to put some kind of warning at the top of the post.

I've included a link to mine...not much yet but I'm a newbie blogger too.

Yes, when each clue is released, we'll also include a picture of the previous week's clue

I haven't blogged in awhile. I love the idea of blogging this though. I guess it's time to bring my blog back from near death... http://prayingthroughchaos.blogspot.com/

I've also been thinking about blogging about the CAL. I've had my blog for quite some time, but haven't really bothered to post very regularly. Life tends to get in the way most days. I'm trying to do better, but as the mommy of a 19 month old little boy it's a bit difficult. If I decide to post about it on my blog I'll be more than happy to post a link. I think it's an awesome idea, but like most of my awesome ideas I don't have enough time in my day to do them all!!!

I wrote a blog that mentions our KAL/CAL forum!

Postby willijen » Tue Feb 21, 2012 5:11 pm

I wrote my first blog that mentions our KAL/CAL forum on my husbands radio station website. I talk about how I got started in knitting and crocheting that finishes with our current project we all are working on. http://k99.com/my-crafty-wife/
