2012 Mystery Blanket

Postby Shandeh » Thu Jun 28, 2012 11:16 am

I know that several of you are still working on your mystery blanket, just like me. (I'm about halfway through making all my CAL motifs.)

I decided to make a new discussion topic for all of us who are slower workers, so we can motivate each other to complete our blankets.

Are you doing the KAL or the CAL?
What colors have you chosen?
How far have you gotten in your project?
Are you having problems with your blanket?

Looking forward to hearing from all of you. :)

Almost finished! The squares are all sewn together, although we mixed up the layout a bit, and I'm working on the last bit of edging. Like a few others, I liked the idea of the side border repeating on the top and bottom, so I've adapted the pattern for the sides to wrap around the corners. Starting the last edge and should be finished soon!

Crochet Along -- want to catch up

Postby MsBallsOfYarn » Mon Jul 02, 2012 10:11 pm

Is it possible to catch up on the project, or should I just wait for the new one. How will I know when the knew project starts?

It's too late for the contest, but you can always join the CAL. I'm sure there are some who haven't yet finished their blankets... I know there are some working on the KAL still. I started the KAL after it was completed, in May. And as I'm learning to crochet now, I may try this CAL eventually, when I've got some more crochet experience and fewer projects on my plate!

I'm sure when a new mystery CAL of this size comes along, there will be lots of noise on the forums, but I'm guessing there won't be another until 2013... Might as well work on this one while you wait! ;)

There is no deadline for making your blanket, so just keep at it! I'm still working on mine, and there are some others working on theirs as well.

You can stay tuned about the upcoming knit-alongs and crochet-alongs right here in the forum. You can also read about them if you subscribe to Bernat's Newsletter (sign up here), Facebook page, or on Twitter.

As Ninjette mentioned, the contest for this year's mystery blanket is over. But that doesn't mean we have to stop making blankets! :)

You are welcome to add any kind of border you want. It is YOUR blanket, so be creative. :)

I am not a designer, so I can't help you with that one. I usually follow patterns as they are written.
