The other is just because I love blue and white together and the pink and green seemed to fit. I wonder if I can work on two at once. Maybe Ill keep the clues and make another later in the year. :hrmm: This is the first time that I've tried this but I am so very excited! :D Let me know what you all think!

I think you should make them both!
I'm making both blankets, and there is NO WAY they will be completed quickly.

You and I can work on our blankets for the next three years. I don't think anyone will mind. ;)

dixie miss I would enjoy crocheting in the girly colours. Ratlady, your choices look striking! and i like Shandeh's colours too, they are all so similar, they will work well together i think. Can't wait to see pictures!

The colours i have on my palette at the moment are Birch white (main), greek sea, porcelain red and beautiful blue, and Bark as a contrasting colour. I chose the pinks and blues just because i really like them and i think i will enjoy crocheting with them. The brown and white will look nice in my room

this is my latest colour choice: I just picked what caught my eye. I'm a little nervous because the colours are so nicely arranged in categories and then I just went and mixed them all up!

•Bark | 55013 | Simplicity|
•Greek Sea | 55205 | Simplicity|
•Porcelain Red | 55500 | Beautiful Things|
•Beautiful Blue | 55140 | Past Perfect|
•Sundrift | 55615 | Beautiful Things|

I played around with my palette for maybe 20 minutes LOL. I just went with the colors I have in my main rooms of the house as my main color, then the accents to pull from throw pillows, lamps and a red occasional chair I have.
So my choices:

White Birch
Bark
Sundrift
Porcelain Red
Irish Moss

For an afghan, should go well in either the front room or bedroom. Hope it turns out OK... :idonno:

I used the "cut and paste" method to choose my colors, as it was the easiest for me. I am doing both the KAL and the CAL. I am making the CAL blanket for my family room, to go on a camel-colored couch with multi-colored pillows in olive, pumpkin, gold, brown, etc. The colors I chose for this afghan are the Gypsy Gold for main color, and Turtle Green, Porcelain Red, Stone Brown, and Bark for accents. I am making the KAL afghan for my living room for a leather chair that is next to my camel-back sofa that is dark red, taupe, black, and olive in a vintage-style tapestry fabric. I am using the Incense as the main color, with Bark, Celadon, and Sundrift, and Black as the accent color. I think it will look very nice. I loved doing last year's CAL ~ it was so fun to see how it all went together as we went along. I had plenty of time to make the squares each week, so I am going to do both afghans this time.

Me too! Thank you for giving me the courage to run with the picks that attract me. I went with Birch White, Butter, Celadon, Bitter Rose and Blue Gown. I've never ordered colors sight unseen before, so I was really nervous. This is also my first CAL, but I just finished my first ripple afghan and I'm so in love with it that I'm ready to get started on another!

Online Color Support

Thank you, Bernat Yarns, for the fabulous assistance in prepping for the Knit Along! This is my first experience with this project and if the rest of the project is as well-orchestrated as the color selection process I am going to be in knitting heaven!

Goodmorning everyone!

Woke up fresh this morning and looked at my colors again and finally decided, well kinda. The only reason I decided is the one I like most really needs six colors instead of five which is one too many so that cancels that out.........leaving only one choice left. :D
Happy Crocheting,

Haha, no problem :) We want everybody to feel good about their choices. Afghans are a pretty big commitment, so we're hoping to make everything as smooth as possible. I'm very glad you're enjoying it so far!
