KAL Difficulty Level

OK, the KAL is going to be the same thing over and over. Right? It sure looks like it. It has reaching boring and has now passed it. Not good.

Thank you! I was having the same problem. light grey text witn quick-print (i.e. ink-saving) setting was almost invisible.

After Clue #4, there will be no more squares. Time for something different. ;)

Yes, it is all marked Easy. this can be boring, even for new knitters who are ready to learn next skill.
So I use easy knitting for when my brain needs a break or when I'm listening to a mystery book and can't miss any detail there. The gals at my LYS call this something like chat group project, meaning you can take to a meeting or knitting group and just knit and chat. Good idea. :knit:

Would have to agree with you! I decided yesterday that I will abandon the kal and join the cal instead. If I like the kal when it's finished then I will maybe restart later, but the monotony of the first 4 squares might just put me off.

oooooh, ok, I had better catch up then. The part I am anticipating ( with a little dread ) is using the circular needles to actually do something circular. :scared:

Re: Questions

Hi,

I have a question about Clue 5. I've made 2 motifs of this clue already. My problem is that this motif is one row larger than all the other octagon clues. If I stopped after row 7 it would be the same size as all the others. Is this supposed to be like this? I also counted the stitches. On clue 5, there are 16 stiches on one octagonal side starting the count with the second dc on the corner to the first dc on the next corner. On the clue 2 there are 12 stiches on each octagonal side amd on clue 3 there are 13 stitches on each octagonal side. Shouldn't there be the same number of stitches on each octagonal side for all the octagonal clues? Please advise and let me know what to do.

Thanks,
rosecrotchet

The number of stitches is not as important as the size of the octagon. If it measures 11 inches, you're in good shape.

Mini KAL for leftover yarn

Postby K1P1quebec » Sat Mar 17, 2012 6:11 pm

Hey Bernat designers, how about coming up with something to use up our leftover yarn? Now that we are into week 5 and beginning to see how this may eventually look, I am thinking I am just going to have to make a matching pillow of some sort. I just received the 4 pattern booklets for the Waverly yarn colour families by mail this week and love the coordinating throw and pillow combinations. Nothing looking quite like a quilt in there though. Was thinking it would be fun to have a mini KAL for a coordinating pillow during the warmer months this year. I am so pleased to be finally making something beautiful that I will keep for my own home, and I'd like to continue to add pieces to this décor. :cloud9:
