I meet gauge, so is the pattern off? I am using Bernat Handicrafter Cotton in Emerald Isle :inlove: and white throughout (no stripes for me).

Hmmm... :hrmm: It might be hard to judge, since you aren't changing colors, but do you have a photo?
I just looked at the photo of the pattern model, and it looks like there are 17 stripes, with 8 blue between 9 lighter colored ones. You should have 17 rows of your solid color in that center section.

I'm glad you like them! :D I'm having fun putting them together. Let me know if you have any ideas for more!

As long as you're happy with it, that's all that matters. I just hope you have enough yarn!

It looks really good.

Here we go, final measurements 12" h x 14"w (without handles). I used about 3/4 (8oz) of the Handicrafter Cotton. To begin I sc in blo, then followed pattern only using the 2 yarns, Emerald Isle and white. I omitted the rsc on the trim (hands got too tired) but I like the result! :cloud9: Now onward to the next project.

That yarn caused quite a stir in my house. I ended up using the left over yarn and made book marks for the kids in my daughter's class as an end of the year gift. We then personalized each bookmark with their name and added some "magic beads" (they look white, but then change color when exposed to UV light) for the tassel on the bookmark. The kids loved them, I liked that the beads ended up matching the color of the yarn! :cooldude:

Here is my striped drawstring tote. The placement of the straps makes it work nicely as a backpack which was a nice surprise. I will admit this project gave me way more practice than I ever wanted on weaving in my ends since the yarn changed color every row. I love love love the colors though, such bright/cheery summer colors! :inlove: :cooldude:
