Gorgeous, love the smaller size and lining!! :bravo:

Please share how you included the lining.
How did you sew it in?
Did you pre sew it then insert?
How difficult was it?
I love what you did!

I am wondering the same thing...would love to know the easiest way to include a liner.

OK, this was the first time I made a liner. I roughly cut a square out of fabric. Then I folded it in half and sewed the sides (inside out). (My pouch was a little big to fit but I just gathered it a bit. I didn't want it to be small, but I probably should have adjusted the size a little to get a smoother fit.) Next I turned it the right way and roughly sewed the bottom to the bottom of the purse with a few stitches. Then the sides. Then I made sure to turn under the top and top stitch the lining near the top of the purse. I should have ironed and hemmed first really but I did it quickly in front of the tv. It looks good to me! I plan on putting a zipper in the top too. I'll let you know how it goes

I finally had the time to start the mermaid purse. It is for my niece and godchild, she will be turning 18 next summer. I am pretty sure she'll be thrilled! I think I'll put velcro on the lining instead of a zipper I am not sure yet what should be best. Anyway, the purse is coming along nicely.

I have never felt velcro was kind to yarns of any kind! Maybe felted? If the latch doesn't come onto the velcro just right every time it will snag and then there will be a real mess soon, and after all that work, that seems a shame to me. If you really do want to use velcro, you can try this tip I used on my winter coat last year when I wore it with a scarf. I put a matching sized square of very cheap / thin felt (from dollar store, cheapest felt ever sold there!) and really rubbed it on. A bit of the holding texture was still there with not enough power to damage my scarf
At least consider how the velcro may damage the purse [or handle if it gets in the way] before going that route. A zipper may be harder to install but would be more pleasing down the road. Or you could make loops as button holes and put a few buttons along the edge. Or find a good snap or magnet pair.

Sometimes an idea seems so good, and sometimes you need someone to get you on the right track and let you realize that it is not so good.
Really I have not even thought of it! not even for a second. Now, I am sure Velcro would make a mess.
Thank you for your help, you have good ideas to choose from and maybe I'll take my time and put a zipper

Just another idea here, but I used a magnetic clasp on mine. I have yet to sew in the lining, but I put the clasp in the centers of my wooden handles that I crocheted over to attach them. It worked out really well I think. If I could find my camera I'd post pics, but I'm not sure where my camera has disappeared to....again....the joys of having a toddler in the house!!!!
