Just finished the top edging of the purse and instead of doing a last row of the pattern, I did a row of single crochet. It really gives it a nice, neat finished edge. Sigh now the fun part...the handles.

That sounds really nice ladycath:) What colours did you pick?
Isn't it a pretty pattern? I am going to make another purse in Bernat Supersaver Clay. Then I think I'll make a flower in one of the leftover Bernat Waverly colours from the KAL. :crown:

I got a deal on some Vanna's Choice so I did it in Taupe with Linen for the top and straps. I am making the flower with some of the Porcelain Red Waverly I have left over from the CAL. I think I am going use muslin to line it with. I am also thinking seriously of doing a 1 1/2 wide by about 3 inch long strap, over the middle top and making(try to make :hrmm: ) a crocheted disc or small ball to use instead of a button for a closure.

Yarn to Use

Postby DizzyLizzy » Mon Mar 26, 2012 10:44 am

While on the plane tomorrow I would like to begin to make the crocodile tears bag that calls for Bernat Super Value yarn, but my JoAnn Fabrics does not carry that yarn. What other yarn might I use? Thank you

Anything that is worsted weight. I ended up using cotton since that was all I had. This is so much fun to watch grow as you stitch it. Enjoy!

I am not sure how to post a picture, but I wanted to share that I made this purse and on the bottom I added a 11/2 inch edging just like the top. I think it looks awesome and makes the purse really pop. If I can figure out how to post a picture I will.

I finished the closure flap and it turned out nice. I made it 2" wide and 2 1/2 " long. I am finishing up the last handle now. Thank you Mikey for the handles, his video on YouTube was a great help. It explained it so clearly and you can pause-try-rewind-try again til you get it right. The only thing I did differently was to leave my hook in until I turned the stitches...then I removed the hook. That way you don't have to turn loose loops, worked great.

I will post pictures as soon as I finish and attach the handles, maybe tomorrow. I am so happy with me and my purse :cloud9:
