Ohhhh.....this is beautiful! I love that color and your necklace is so nice with it.

I put the button mine and I'm glad that I did after wearing it here at work for a couple of days. I didn't mess with the snap. I just tuck the button in one of the spaces at the corner, and it works great. You know a chain stitch or monk's cord tie would be cute there too.

Great job on your sweater! :bravo:

(pictures of mine coming later today)

Thanks! I might see what is available out there for a button...can't wait to see pictures of yours :)

Donnajea: Nice work!!! Love your accent necklace and earrings. They will be a really great "go -together"!!

Shandeh, Looking good. How many skeins do you have worked up? Also, thanks for the "correction".

I had to do some frogging on mine. I think I had 7 rows of shells done and noticed I had a couple of mistakes. Mainly I did a couple of rows of shells without the row in between of the ch 3's, then I noticed that my connection of the two skeins didn't look right. Tried to get the knot to the back (wrong) side of the sweater and ended up releasing the knot completely, so I frogged all the way to the beginning of the new skein. Now a question -- how do you all knot the skeins together? I used a square knot, but I believe I cut the ends too close. After 60 plus years of crocheting, you'd think I'd know how to do this. Guess I'm still a beginner!!

Thanks for any help.

I've used about two skeins so far. Still have 6 left, so I think I'm okay.

Whoa! Don't cut those ends!
When you see you are running out of yarn, tie the new yarn with a simple, small knot. Then weave in the ends, so they don't come undone. Another option would be to do a russian join instead of a knot. You can find a YouTube video about that. It's awesome.

I finally got the main body of the cardigan done (after frogging about half of it!) and now I'm starting on the sleeves. I'm having the same problem getting started that I did on the foundation row of the cardigan. I'm only getting 5 shells when I need 6. I've already started over once and I'm getting ready to start over again!!! This is sooooo frustrating!!!!!!!!

Finally got some uninterrupted time where I could really concentrate on what I'm doing. DH and dogs don't seem to realize that paying attention and counting is critical to this!! :ire: So I've got it figured out, again!! :cloud9:

Try adding a few chains more than the pattern calls for for your size. That way, if you have skipped a chain or miscounted, you will still have enough to do 6 shells, and you can pick out any extras. Also, make sure that you are counting two chains after your shell. The first one gets petty small, and is easy to miss. Someone a few posts back, said she was marking every third chain, so she would know where to put the next stitch. you might try that, as well.....at least a few repeats ahead of yourelf.

I think that I was missing the first chain after the shell. After I was able to really pay attention to what I was doing things came out right. Marking the chains is a good idea tho. I need to get me some better markers. I don't like the ones I have now. I saw some in the new edition of Interweave Crochet magazine that are more like baby diaper pins. I'm going to look into ordering some of those. I haven't seen them at Hobby Lobby yet.

I used bobby pins...you just slide them on where you need them then slide them off to move them. Worked really well for me.
