Haven't been on for a while, but thought I would post a pic of the progress on my blanket. The blocks in each panel are joined as you go, so there will be minimal seaming. There are 10 different colors, even though the two reds look almost the same in the photo. I've just started on the fourth, and final panel. No promises as to when it will be done. I will need to block each panel so they won't pucker or pull when seamed. Since I've used different stitches for each color, some of them have a tendency to pull inward a bit, so I've had to monkey around with the number of stitches and the hook size on several of the blocks, so blocking will be a MUST! Anyway.....here it is approximately 3/4 of the way done.

Here's a photo of one of the blankets I just finished. It was a group project I started on the Knitting Help Forum back in 2007. I cast on 300 stitches, knit for a couple inches, then left it on the needles, and mailed it to the next knitter. Each knitter added their section of knitting, then left it on the needles and mailed it to the next person...and so on...and so on...including 20 different knitters. After a couple years, the postage started getting ridiculous. So, I asked the last knitter to mail it back to me, so I could finish it up at home. I knit the last 12 inches of sections (beginning with the green section with purple flowers). Now, it's ready to go to charity! :)

I love the idea and the blanket--it is sooooo unusual. I can only imagine about the postage!!!!! I know the person who receives it will cherish it. Congrats on a job well done!!!!

3" scars are really impressive! I'm happy to hear that the replacements are working for you.

The African Motif is also on Ravelry. I'm using my own color scheme, but the pattern is Heidi Bear's. It's a motif you can use for a purse, a pot holder, an afghan, whatever.

I'm sewing them together - I'm about half way through. Then will need to do the border. My friends b-day is today, so I need to get busy and finish it. I won't see her until next Friday and hope to have it finished by then.

How's yours coming along?

Sure hope your back is better--glad it was not your hip--think PT might be easier than surgery.

Thanks for the African Motif info--I found it and have printed it off for my files--they sure are beautiful!!! I imagine you have finished sewing by now and that your friend loved it. I got a thank-you note from the bride that got my CAL and she thanked us for the contribution we made to their home fund but never mentioned the afghan--very disappointing.

I have just a few more seaming ends to tuck and then will have to wait until it is cooler to do the border. I have another one in a tub waiting to be seamed so that will occupy the table next and I started the baby bunting CAL and another baby blanket to work on in the evenings--all stash yarn--DH loves that!!!

Let me know what you are doing now and post a pic of the finished African motif blanket--would love to see it.

I have been working on a granny afghan for a friend who has had some major health issues and I finished it today. I did not design the blanket but modified a pattern called "Baby Granny Three Ways." I love the way it turned out and since there were three different pattern stitches, I did not get bored working on it. I made some modifications which I plan to post on Ravelry along with the picture. I can't wait to get this to her.

Baby blanket,......I don't know yet what pattern (crochet or knit) I'll be making or what color since we just learned that there will be a new addition to the family. :inlove: (Any suggestions?) He or she will be number 3. So between the temperature scarf, cowls (one for each of my daughter in law) one knit, one crochet, I think I still have time to do other things :knit: :knit: :knit:
