Cool! I'm hoping to make my second slipper this weekend, and make a how-to video at the same time. Wish me luck!

I love that granny crochet slipper pattern! It gets my attention whenever I look through the Bernat patterns.

This will work with size 9 right? I can't justify buying new needles to use up yarn in my stash :knit:

If you knit loosely, it should be fine. But, you might want to do a gauge swatch first.

I'm a tight knitter, so I'm using size 11 needles for my slippers.

I loved your idea of using your oddments of yarn, so went to my bag of left over yarns and sorted out some different colours for my slippers .
Hope to start knitting then tonight.
What is the best way to join in the different colours.
Glad that you are not hurt after your carwreck.

Hi Laynie! Thanks for the well wishes. I'm just fine, but my poor car is not so happy. I hope to get it fixed soon.

Using scrap yarn is EASY when making slippers. The only issue you'll have is that there will be lots of ends to work in when the slippers are done. I am using a full skein of yarn for one strand of my slippers, and using scraps for the second strand.

Just start knitting with both strands held together, then stop when you run out of the scrap yarn you're using. Make sure you have enough of the scrap yarn to finish an entire row, because you'll want to change colors at the edges. Then gently tie on your new color of scrap yarn, and keep going. Just do that every time you run out of scrap yarn. When you finish your knitting, go back, and untie the knots, then weave in the ends of the yarn securely.

I am making the video for my second slipper tonight, so stay tuned for that very soon! You'll be able to see me making my slippers with scrap yarn. :)

I made two videos tonight, but one of them got corrupted. Ack! :(
So, I'm gonna try again.

I finished my first one. They seem so warm. I am also using a full skein for one strand and remnants for the other.

Great! Isn't it fun to make quick, easy slippers like this? That is so cool to hear that your kids are asking for some. :D
