Discussion and Photos of our Works in Progress (Jan. & Feb.)

During our current KAL/CAL, you'll be working on a scarf a little bit every day for the whole year. At the end, look back and see how the weather has changed!

So pretty. What stitch are you using?

Thank you, :hellogoodbye: I am using 4 different stitches, for the border and in between month I use seed stitch, for the temperature gap that last only one day I use stockninette, for the temperature gap lasting 2 days, I use a lacy stitch and for the temperature lasting more than 3 days I use a chevron stitch. I did not want to many colors so I took the average temp and used 10 degree celcius in between.

After seeing the beautiful almost full moon tonight (full tomorrow) decided to represent that as well. Hubby suggested adding some beads to the row for the day of the full moon each month. Now I have to check out my bead stash. :D

What a nice idea, :bravo: I wish I thought of that ;)

Very pretty, I like it already

So a couple of my yarns are backordered, and so are my beads.... :rainy:

The yarns I am ok with being backordered because they are the higher temps so I don't need them right away, however the beads that are backordered I don't think I can start until they come in....

So frustrated because I want to start sooo badly!!

I have been recording everything and the temps are highlighted on paper so I don't have to think about how many days the yarn needs to run and also so I know exactly how many beads (and in what color/shade order) to string in the hopes of having to weave in less ends....

c'est la vie!

Here's mine to date! Amazing how much the temperature has changed in Michigan in January! My coworker and I are going to do one row per day at work! I can't wait to see the final result. 27 days took me about an hour or so. We chose Roy G Biv as our colors with a pink thrown in and we're dividing the degrees by 10s.

I have my scarf up to date for Battle Creek, MI. Here is a picture of it. The border rows I did too loosely so it is bigger then the rest of the scarf. It is fun to wait for the next day to get the previous days high temp to see what color you will be doing for the next two rows.

Thanks. Could you sew them on for this month and just add them on as you go as of next.

I'm using the chevron stitch for mine too. Love the wavy effect :D

We had some icy roads a couple days ago, so I stayed home from teaching piano lessons. (I teach in my student's homes). I was able to get all caught up on my scarf! Photo soon.... :)

I might just do that, thanks for getting me on the right track. my brain must be on ice with the freezing weather we had lately.
