We went together tonight and found our yarn on sale and had a great time deciding what colors to put together. These are the colors I picked: Classic Navy (main color), Tibetan Red, Butter, Antique, and Birch White

What a great idea to work together! That will be so fun.
Your colors look great together!

I think it will be great to get together, crochet and catch up with each other. :)

I received my yarn today!!

Main color - Greek Sea
Contrast - Birch White, Aqua Frost, Bark and Colonial Beige.

If it turns out ok, I will be giving this to my mom.

I did the CAL last year and really enjoyed it. I was new to crochet at that time and it really helped me. This year I am new to knitting, so I am going to try the KAL.

Can't wait for the first clue!

I got my yarn!! It's sooo exciting. It took me forever to decide on the colors since I had to order online. I finally settled on the Beautiful Things line of colors for the CAL.

I used the suggested colors, but reversed them.
MC Sundrift
Contrast A Pink Suede
Contrast B Bitter Rose
Contrast C Porcelain Red
Contrast D Willow

I love the Sundrift for the main color. This combination of colors is a little outside my comfort zone, but now that I have them, I think they look awesome together. I did the CAL in 2010 and loved it. The mystery makes it so much fun!!

Hi,Well after spending hrs reading everyone's color choices I have decided to make both the cal, and kal My cal will be mc sundrift, a pink suede,b bitter rose,c porcelain red ,d willow. My sofa is slip covered in waverly fabric with greens and rose tones so I know I will love it. My kal is for my sofa in my family room it is red and I have butter yellow walls, behind the sofa I have colored drawings of kinsale, galway, dublin and Dingle bay Ireland . I wanted to pick up the colors in them ,so I went with A butter,B Tibetan Red, C cadet D Celadon and E black. I,m not sure about the green but I want all the wonderful colors that will remind me of my trip. Cant't wait to start, hope I can do both.(:

Wow! Lots of color combos out there! Here's mine! I'm a little nervous about the turtle green going with the Greek sea. Hm...but I want it to be in the green shades and not into the browns. I stayed with the Simplicity line.
MC is White Birch with contrasting colors of; Greek Sea, Butter, Colonial Beige, and Turtle Green.
Opinions? Suggestions?

colors for KAL

Postby umozabeads » Mon Jan 23, 2012 10:16 pm

Okay, I have seen all of the palettes and I have a problem; while I like some of the colors in a palette, I don't like the others. Can you pick and chose from the palettes and still be okay? This is my first Bernat KAL, I love this yarn and have used it for years, especially the baby yarn for my kids, grandkids and now great' grandkids. :bravo:

You can pick and choose yarns from any lifestyle/palette. What you choose is up to you! :D

Oh my goodness, can't believe how much I am struggling with this!
Would just like to ask opinions on this combo please for the KAL?

Have decided after much deliberation to knit the afghan for downstairs, we have similar colours through the downstairs of the house so can put anywhere. Have also posted a pic of wallpaper in back room, didn't include black as the 2 ball contrast as I thought it might look a bit harsh? So put Gypsy Gold in there instead.
All very same-y and dull but there you go.
Am ordering from the UK so I really do have to get it right, no second chances!
Apparently each square uses more than one colour of yarn which has just befuddled me even more. (see my other posts....)
Thanks in advance for your opinions. x

Mummy,

I personally think those colors look really good together. My only suggestion for a change might be to use Stone Brown instead do the Antique to provide a greater contrast. However, that might make it too dark for our taste. Just my two cent's worth.

thanks LuckyRainbow, much appreciated. x
Just a little worried they were all a little same-y.
Will try the stone brown (will it go with the sofa or would black be better?????) It's feeding time at the zoo at the moment so will wait til kids are in bed and I can concentrate!
Hmm decisions, decisions.
