taking in stretched sleeves

Postby psvg007 » Thu Jan 26, 2012 7:32 pm

Hello,

I made a woolen sweater for my son about 3 years ago. The sleeves have stretched in width(not length) They are now about ten inches in width at the cuff and partially up the sleeve. How can I fix that other than taking in a seam on the inside andif I do that what do I do with the excess on the inside of the sleeve?

Thanks for you help.

One quick fix would be to just do a serged seam with a sewing machine. Of course, this will prevent you from ever unravelling the sweater.

The only other fix I know of is to unravel the sleeves, and make them over again.
