Brave girls! I too, decided to make both. I ordered the crochet in symplicity and the knit in past perfect. I just worked up my gauge swatches - the knit on 8in dbl points. Why do they tell us to do that? A waste of time and yarn as both were exactly right in stitches and rows. Now I have two more coasters to add to the pile! But I am ready, so bring it. :)

I have decided to do both the KAL and the CAL too! I am having a Hysterectomy the week before so I figure I will have lots of time to do them since I will not be able to do anything else! This is my first time participating. I am excited to have something to look forward to after my surgery . I went to Spinrite in Listowel, Ontario yesterday after my Pre Op appointment to get my yarn. All ready to go!

Good luck with your hysterectomy! I had mine a few years ago, and it was quite an experience. It took a LONG time for me to get my energy back, but my quality of life has been very much enhanced. I am glad I had the surgery. I got lots of help on the Hystersisters website. Look it up - you'll be glad you did! That website is the reason I started reading online forums, so it eventually led me here! ;)

Be sure to take your time after your surgery, to let yourself heal completely internally as well as externally. Pace yourself, and don't overdo it. Make sure you have someone at your house to take care of you for a few days afterwards. :)

Ok so I also got pulled in and am doing both blankets. :scared: I am a much more experienced knitter but also have done some crocheting I've been wanting to get back into crocheting more and thought doing CAL with all the support from here would be a great way to improve my crocheting skills. I had some stash yarn I'm using for the KAL
Contrast A light sage
B Country Blue
C Rosy Pink
D Light purple
E Dark sage

For the CAL I ended up ordering these colors
MC Sundrift
A Blue Gown
B Incense
C Bitter Rose
D Stone Brown
Now all that's left is the waiting... ;)

Welcome! :hellogoodbye:
I was the same way at our last Mystery CAL. I was an experienced knitter, and only knew very basic crochet. I was very happy with how my blanket turned out, and now I feel much more confident with my crochet.

I am an expert crocheter and not-quite-expert knitter. I taught myself to knit just a couple of years ago and am all the time trying to learn new stitches in both crochet & knit.

I have decided to do both the CAL and KAL afghans. I have decided to do both in the same colors. However, I will probably change the order of the alternate colors for the different blankets.

The willow color on the bottom left is the main color.
