HEY! I knit and crochet and have for the past ten years and I'm only 30 (ish or so...)

If I could just make her realize that knitting is "hip", I might get her to try it. She is just so closed-minded. Oh well.....her loss. And I don't have to worry about her invading my stash either!

Just choose whether you want to make a knitted blanket or a crochet blanket.

Bernat has designed two lovely blankets for us to create. They will release a different portion of the pattern every week, beginning Feb 15th.

You can get all your yarn ready ahead of time. Just go to the One Stop Reference page, then click the first link to the CAL/KAL Reference Page to see all the details.

Afghan style

I am new to this mystery knit along. Do you knit squares with different patterns and join them to create the afghan?

All of Bernat's mystery blankets are designed as squares or motifs, which are joined together at the end. This keeps the mystery and fun alive!

I'm trying to find my camera bag so that I can charge my battery so I can show off all my pretty yarn!! I'm not really sure where my bag is and that just happens to be where my charger is hiding. Go figure...I don't use the camera often, but when I need it, the battery is dead. Off to hunt some more!!

I'm really excited to start the CAL. I'm really hoping that I am able to complete the project, I started an afghan before when I first started to crocheting but didn't realize that I should leave my ends long so I could sew them in and now there are hundreds of them to weave in! I usually just do crochet thread projects but this sounded like too much fun to pass up! Still have to choose my colours though!

I have never done a mystery CAL before but it looks like fun so I decided to give it a try. My sister will be doing with me as well. I got my yarn today. I chose Willow for my main color and Incense, Pink Suede, Porcelain Red and Sundrift for contrast. Very excited...can't wait for it to start!!!
Happy knitting and crocheting!!
