Yes, a post about pets!

Postby Kaleigh » Wed Jan 11, 2012 2:50 pm

I wasn't in the "creative post subject" mood, but here's a pet post... because everybody (read: most everybody) loves pets! What kind of pets do you have? What kind of pets would you like?

This is Abby! She thinks she's a lapdog, but she also happens to weigh 80 lbs. She's always got to be in the center of everything - if two people are in opposite ends of the house, she'll find the mid-way point and lie there until somebody moves.

We don't know what breed she is, but she looks just like Sprocket from Fraggle Rock. My dad used to joke to people that she's his cousin from the Orkneys... until he told that to a wonderful Scottish couple who then said they were from the Orkneys. Now we settle for "a goat/dryer lint mix."

This is a very dangerous topic - i could have a little too much fun.

The basics - I have 2 cats and 2 dogs.
the cats:
Drake - a 12-year-old fluff monster. Super relaxed and happy to just flop next to you anytime.
Ruby - a 2-year-old beauty. Shy around company, but secretly the alpha-female of the house.
the dogs:
Fiona, aka Wonderpug - a 12-year-old one-eyed pug. One of the most delightful companions ever. Always giving love.
Matilda - the monster of the house - a 1.5 year-old Boston Terrier/French Bulldog Mix.

Together, they make chaos, but I love it!

I do love pets, but I can't have one. I become allergic to every single animal I ever live with. :rainy:

The only thing I'm not allergic to is fish or reptiles. But, I really don't want to sit and cuddle with a lizard. :?

In the past, I've had gerbils, hamsters, a guinea pig named "Jelly Bean", and a pair of finches. Became allergic to all of them.

Oh....and I'm allergic to alpaca too. :tears:

I love that you started a post about pets!!! So I decided to post a picture of my Baxter. He is a a 12 year of Maltese and he loves when I crochet. He cuddles up on whatever I am working on and has laid claim on all of the afghans in the living room. At times he thinks he's a Rottweiler, and I don't want ho hurt his feelings so I let him believe it!

This is the newest addition to the family (technically he's my parents dog!).. His name is Taz and he's such a big baby who thinks he's a lap dog! He's a bit clumsy.. and often knocks his head on table legs.. ahaha.. He's also not the most agile bridge crosser!

This is my papillion, Pippin. He was named for Pippin the Short, not the hobbit or the b-ball player. He is one of the smartest, cuddliest, and sweetest little humans with fur, you will ever meet.

He is a bit neurotic at times, but he always brightens up the place.

I have five cats, and all are fascinated by yarn to some degree. One of the prettiest sights I've ever seen is my beautiful tuxedo (black and white) girl Ridley, rolling on her back with joy after unwinding a ball of turquoise ribbon yarn all over the floor -- wish I had gotten a picture! I have to keep my yarn in bins or bags with a zipper or drawstring since I'm at work all day, and it isn't safe for cats to be alone-at-last with yarn (they might swallow it, very dangerous).
