She chose Mauve glow for the mc, princess, fresh flowers, and birch white with breath of blue for contrast. So I nixed making this for the family room or living room and decided to make it for her. I will have lots of incentive to get it finished and joined!

I went to the Joann's website today found that they have all bernat yarn 30% off until tomorrow night! With a free shipping code it was less than $39 for the CAL yarn. Yeah!

Becky, that sounds like our daughter...pink, pink and more pink!
Oh how lovely it must be to get yarn so cheap, it's so expensive here in the UK and acrylics in particular are not always great quality, imo. Have read good things about Waverly so expectations are high!
At least Bernat were offering the 25% off, softening the blow of a $75 yarn invoice (about £50).
Ssh...don't tell the husband. It's a small price to pay for an afghan which I am hoping will be nice enough once complete to become a family heirloom. :hrmm:

Dilemma! My yarn arrived yesterday, except for Sundrift, which fabric.com was sold out of, so I went to JoAnn where I could only find 2 of the 3 balls I needed. Yeesh, Sundrift is popular!

So, I'd chosen this as my palette:

Beachy, nice. But I'm not loving Colonial Beige now that I've seen it in person. I was checking out Bark while at JoAnn, though.

Also nice, and I think I prefer it over the Colonial Beige. But THEN Pink Suede caught my eye, and now I'm liking how it transforms the other four colors into sort of a retro, sweet thing.

And now I don't know what to do! It's a fun problem to have. hehe But I'm pretty sure Colonial Beige is out.

Colors selected after much agonizing and so many scenarios:
main: incense
accents: gypsy gold, willow, sundrift, beautiful blue

Cant wait to see the yarn and get started!

The pink is really pretty with it! I picked everything you had originally except I chose butter over Sundrift. Sundrift is nice; I also don't care for the Colonial Beige, it looked a bit different on my screen (which I expected to a point). So now I have some Colonial Beige but hopefully once it is knitted in it will look good as an accent. It is my one of my contrast colors and since it's only two skeins it shouldn't be too bad. That's what I keep telling myself anyway.

I think I've chosen the colours for my afghan.
Tibetan Red, Celadon, stone brown, turtle green, bark and sundrift. I'm having trouble choosing my main colour though because I'm not trying to match the blanket to any particular room (I'm in college and my "home decor" doesn't really match to begin with) I just like the earthy tones. Any suggestions would be really appreciated!!

You've chosen 6 colors. You'll only need 5 for the blanket.

Finally got my colors
Birch White, Aqua Frost, Greek Sea, Butter and Colonial Beige....I also picked up a couple of skeins of Navy which I might switch out and use instead of the Colonial Beige!

I picked the exact same colors, Aqua Frost is my main color.
