Online photos are sometimes very deceiving. Different cameras and lighting conditions really affect how the images display online. I was very pleased when I received my yarn. It looks exactly like the colors I chose on the Bernat site.

Thanks. I feel a little better now. But I am still sitting on the edge of my seat. :)

I love your choices for the KAL, and am interested in seeing how the CAL colors will look in that blanket.
Isn't it fun choosing colors for the blankets? :P

Thanks. I had so much fun choosing. Now I cant wait for the real fun to start. Ugh. 2 weeks! Madess I say! Madness.

I felt that way when I received my yarn. The Colonial Beige was different than I thought, and I started questioning it and then my other colors. There are so many choices! It is so hard and I second guess myself when it comes to these types of things. It may look a bit different but I bet it will be beautiful! :D

Thanks. Second guessing myself is something I am a master of.

Personally, I like the Sundrift better. Keeps things bright and happy.

I am doing both the CAL and the KAL, because last time I was done so quickly with the CAL squares that I was spending a lot of time waiting for the next clue (except for a few times, when we had LOTS of squares to do....)
I am making one afghan for my family room, and one for my living room. The colors in each room coordinate a little, but are different as well. My living room is camel/brown/olive green primarily.

I have a sofa and loveseat in camel with tapestry cushions, and dark wood antique morris type chairs with olive green velvet cushions. I want to brighten it up a bit, so I am doing the CAL in the following colors:
A: Gypsy Gold
B: Bark
C: Turtle Green
D: Stone Brown
E: Porcelain Red

For my living room, I have a tapestry sofa with brocade in dark red, beige, black, taupe. I also have a large leather chair and ottoman that will get the KAL afghan on it in the following colors:
A: Incense
B: Sun Drift
C: Bark
D: Celadon (coordinates with the family room, and this chair is visible from there)
E: Black

It was so hard picking colors, and I'm STILL not sure.... :idonno:

Interesting choices! They both offer nice, rich coloring.

Yay! My yarn is here today!...first of all I am SO impressed with speed of delivery to UK, received order confirmation on the 26th so lightning speed delivery.
Am SO, SO pleased, after reading a couple of comments that the Colonial Beige was not as expected I was a bit worried that it would be a caramel/toffee colour, but actually it's more like a pale beige with a hint of khaki - hard to describe but works well with the other colours.

Now just waiting for the clues!

Have just mastered crochet too so have been to buy yarn for the 2012 CAL today as I love the look of it, and it will be perfect for my daughters room. Pics attached of those colours too (but these aren't Bernat, just cheap and cheerful acrylic from LYS.) Am SO looking forward to tackling these projects head on.
Hopefully the nice people over on the CAL forum won't be too busy with theire 2012 CAL to help me along a newbie crocheter...! x
