Me too! I've been working on my gauge swatches, to make sure my blanket will be the right size. And I keep trying to imagine how my blankets will look with the colors I've chosen.

Can't wait to get started

Postby witknit » Sun Jan 15, 2012 2:31 pm

Well I have talked 2 of my buddies to join me in this adventure and I am very excited about the project. I've been giving a lot of thought to my colours and think I have it figured out. However I'll probably change my mind when I get to the store tomorrow.
Will the clues be posted in the Newsletter as well?

Do any of the 2012 KAL squares use more than one colourway?

Postby loveyoumummy » Sun Jan 22, 2012 4:13 pm

Hello, new to forum. :hellogoodbye:
Having difficulty choosing colours, wanting to knit this for my daughters room but being 7, she has pink, pink and more pink! The info on choosing colours and the My Palette have been helpful but it would be good to know if any of the squares use more than one colour? If not I may just go for very similar shades.
Really looking forward to this, never done anything like this before (although like others I am not looking forward to joining the squares!)
This is going to be my 'stop smoking' project I think  That is if I don't manage it before then....excited!

Yes. I believe ALL the KAL squares use more than one color. Contrast is very important to the knitted blanket.

Thanks for your reply, am even more excited to start this now! And intrigued too!

Hmm I wonder, without wanting you to give too much away of course, is this design suitable to any room in the house?? Now that you have said the all the KAL squares use more than one colour I am wondering if it will be suitable for a little girls room or whether it may be better downstairs, in the living room for example?

Of course! While you may not want it in the kitchen or as a bathroom rug, the afghan will look great in the bedroom, living room, den, or any other afghan-appropriate room.
