This is my first KAL - and a mystery one at that! I just received my yarn and I'm so pleased. Somehow, between the colors on my laptop and the colors pictured on the website, I did pretty well. I chose a combination of shades from three of the color themes. I think it will be quite lovely. I can't wait! Now, I'll begin my swatching.

I LOVE that Bernat Fab Faux yarn! :inlove: I made a cowl with it, and get compliments whenever I wear it.
Welcome!

That Shearling is one of my favourite colours - made 2 in that colour. I did scarves in all the colours because I couldn't decide which I liked best. The mink, Fox and rabbit came out especially nice, and the beaver was surprising because it is more beautiful worked up than in a skein. ;)

Doing cowls now with Really Big. Now that is soft stuff!
My order is shipping - can't wait till it arrives!

Ooo....I love that Really Big yarn too. You and I have similar taste!

I made a cowl with that, and it was quickly claimed by my son's artist girlfriend. She just loved the color and feel of it!

Ooooh - that looks like Amazon. I like those shorter chunky needles. Mine are at least a third longer again in that chunky size. Was on Bernat site today and they have a pattern for a capelet that is just a bit bigger and covers the shoulders. Can't wait to try it!

Went to my local retailer and saw the Waverly, only they didn't have the quantities needed for an afghan, so good thing I ordered mine. Will probably go get one skein though so I can practice my gauge over the weekend. And while I was there I discovered the Knit or Knot Jessie yarn. I had seen it on site but for real - oh my! I'm afraid grabbing would have been the appropriate word to use to describe me getting the only hank of Blue in the store!

Will have to experiment with attaching a photo. Is there a tutorial? Not used to blogging, tweeting, facebooking or flicking so not accustomed to those tools, although my HTML skills are coming back to me. Four years ago I went back to work full time and now kids are in later teens, so I'm coming out of those busy years of being absorbed and having more time for my hobbies. I'm having a ball! :inlove:

Hey Nancy, This is my first KAL too. I'm still waiting for my yarn to arrive and chose from at least three of the themes too through the online tutorial. The yarn had not yet arrived in local stores. So what are your colours?

I went today though and they had the yarn in small quantities so I'll get a skein and do swatching this week-end. I hope it goes well!

That Jessie yarn looks cool!

Bernat made a few videos for using it:

Here's the simple tutorial I made for attaching photos here. Just remember to RESIZE your photo before attaching it, so it's easy for everyone to view.

K1P1quebec,

For my main color, I chose Incense. For the next three contrasting shades I chose Bitter Rose, Butter, and Colonial Beige. For the accent color, I chose Cadet (a dusty blue). Hope you get yours soon. What colors did you choose?

Hi! :hellogoodbye: Again, I'm a newbie to KAL's and forums. I'm so excited about doing a Mystery KAL  that I went to my local Joann's and got the 5 colors of Waverly yarn that I wanted for my blanket today! I chose Beautiful Blue for my main color, then Sun Drift, Greek Sea, Incense, and Fresh Flower. Actually, I had to order the Incense and Fresh Flower because they were out in the store. But hopefully I'll get them in time! Can't wait to get started on the afghan! Come on Feb. 15th! ;)
