This is my first time doing the CAL and I can't wait to start, but I am having trouble picking my colors. I was wondering if the A,B,and C colors are used in equal amounts in the afghan? I was thinking of using Butter for my main color, with birch white, colonial beige, and then either gypsy gold or sun drift as color C, and navy blue for my accent color D. Any suggestions? I would appreciate any help. Thank you. :hellogoodbye: HennyPenny

Thank you! Am hoping Grace's afghan will be something she treasures more as the years go by. She is only 6. We have a 5 yr old boy and another girl at 7, so of course that will call for 2 more afghans!

My yarn has arrived, and like so many others, I'm now second guessing my color palette:
MC - Sundrift, A - Butter, B - Colonial Beige, C - Bark, D - Incense
I think I should have gone with a different shade of red for my contrast. :idonno:

I really like the colors you chose. Maybe a brighter red like the Tibetan Red would "pop" more, but the Incense is lovely and rich.

I just went to the palette and put them together. I think it looks nice. I always second guess my choices. I love different colors and could make tons of blankets with all of those colors. Not only that, I then start second guessing my main color and which colors I want where. It is exhausting. Then I see what everyone else chose and I want their colors - Ugh. I am finally satisfied with my choice.

Yes, A, B, and C will be used in equal amounts in the CAL.

I think that sundrift would work better than gypsy gold in the combination you have selected.

I, like many of you, had a hard time deciding on my colors. I decided on: MC - Aqua Frost, A - Mauve Glow, B - Sundrift or Butter (have both), C - Greek Sea, D - Stone Brown (my contrast color). I guess I haven't completely decided....I am torn between Sundrift and Butter. The Sundrift works well with A and C, but Butter gives a little more life to the whole color selection. Anyone have suggestions/opinions on what might look best. This is the first time for me and I want to make a good choice. :hrmm:

I prefer the Sundrift, but I am staring at the computer screen. If Butter lifts up the colors, go for it! It will be beautiful either way.

I think both Sundrift and Butter would work nicely, but I am leaning toward the Butter. It makes the other colors seem brighter, whereas the Sundrift seems to mute them.

I choose to go along with the suggestion color way of the simplicity kal. The colors will go both with my bedroom and living room. The fabric for my comforter is almost the excate same colour as the fabric shown with the simplicity yarn
