Here is my completed afghan.

Here is the detail of the edging.

My color choices were close to the recommended ones, but the recipient does not like purple or lavender, so I used the red instead.

I love your colors better! Great job! I'm going to make it after this one.

Thank you. I did like how the red added just the right pop of color.

To make the afghan in this tread, you just have to go here: http://www.bernat.com/data/pattern/pdf/Bernat_SofteeChunkyweb11_cr_afghan.en_US.pdf. It has all the instructions.

If you want to get in on the mystery afghans this time around check out the "One-Stop Reference" threads under KAL and/or CAL topics.

Welcome! :hellogoodbye:

This year, we are having a knit-along AND a crochet-along mystery blanket.
You just need to decide which craft you want to do. Then, you need to purchase the yarn you will need for your blanket. You can read the color tutorial and other information in the "One Stop Reference" discussion for either craft.

Crochet Along "One Stop Reference" - viewtopic.php?f=121&t=541

Knit Along "One Stop Reference" - viewtopic.php?f=181&t=551

If you want to know how to get around in our forum, read this:

Little advice on 2010 CAL please?

Postby loveyoumummy » Fri Feb 10, 2012 4:48 pm

Am making my first ever crochet project, the 2010 cal for my daughter.
Currently on clue 4, don't know whether my stripes are right though? You can see a little of the yarn ends from the colour change and I'm not 100% happy with it, just would prefer it to look tidier. Only been crocheting a fortnight so advice from far more experienced crocheters would be greatly appreciated. x
Am using weave in methods as found amongst mikeyssmail videos on YouTube.
Big thank you in advance!

I am making the 2010 too, though smaller for lapghan for my Dad. I think your square looks perfect, by the time you join it to the next square, or add the edging, I do not think you will have any noticeable problem at all.
I found this link to the seaming part of the afghan, and it looks like you can access comments for all the squares
if you look around.

Pretty colors you chose!

You're welcome! ;)
I'm thinking of making another of the 2010 Mystery CAL blankets as well. The one I made a couple years ago was a smaller version of everyone else's. I used Bernat Baby Coordinates Chunky for mine, and gave it to a friend for the baby she adopted from Ethiopia.

I had participated in this CAL, and what a beautiful blanket it made. My daughter "took" it from me and I do not think I will ever get it back. But that is okay. I am joining in this one for this year and can't wait for it to start.
