OK, those light up crochet hooks are so awesome! It's great to be on this forum where other people show me new things and have the same passion for crochet and knitting that I do!

I have purchased a few of the Clover "lite" crochet hooks, but have not used one while working on a project. I noticed that the size of a "lite" hook is a little bigger around than the regular Clover hook. I e-mailed the company about it several weeks ago and never got a response. Has anyone found that their gauge is different with the "lite" hook? If so, how did you adjust for the difference?

I haven't noticed any difference with my crochet. But, I'm still learning the craft.

I prefer Clover hooks. I now have the complete set. I love the feel of the handle. With the way I hold my hooks I find the regular steel or plastic hooks rub my hand and eventually hurt. I hold it like a knife. I have tried hard to hold it like a pencil but I cannot make more than 3 stitches before I end up flipping it down. I still wish the hook was shorter by about half an inch. I have nearly every crochet hook size there is, along with a few different ergonomic ones. At first I bought cheap hooks then as I did more crocheting I found better hooks and can now crochet longer at a time.

My mom bought me a G lighted hook about 3 years ago for my birthday. I never used it because I crochet so tight, I usually have to go up a few hook sizes. I picked it up in fall to work on a dark shrug for my daughter, and it worked wonderful. Too bad the shrug didnt' turn out the right size, even after 3 attempts. The hook was so nice, I bought one for the crochet along, because I have pretty dark colors. Otherwise I have found the normal cheap hooks have worked fine.

I will say though, that the older I get, the more I'm considering investing in a better set of hooks. I think just because I deserve it. Not having hand troubles yet, but I appreciate nicer things more as I'm getting older.

I have a bad wrist already and tend to wear support gloves but I think the bamboo handled Susan bares hooks help a ton with the soreness so much so that when I'm in place that my gloves stick out I'm ok with just using those hooks :)
