I thought I'd try posting a photo so...here goes! These are my colors for the 2012 CAL...ILTY (Red, Toasted Almond, Dark Country Blue, Ivory & Yellow).

This topic sure helped me a bunch, thank you! I posted my photo in the 'Afghan Shades - Color Selection' topic. I also used the Preview button several times to get the photos placed properly. I love the new Bernat forums!

I'll try to post a picture (again). Don't understand why it's not working here. I'm downloading from a picture file on my computer (trying to show the picture of the yarn colors).

Oh my gosh it's enormous. How do I downsize it? I'm confused (sorry).

That's okay. It happens to a lot of forum members.
You'll find several free photo resizing programs on the internet.

Here are a couple that work well.

http://www.photosize.com/

Try resizing it with one of those, and repost your smaller image here.

Here are the maximum dimensions for avatars in the Bernat Forum
width: 90 pixels, height: 90 pixels, file size: 19.53 KiB

So, make sure it's not too wide OR too high.
And look at the file size as well. If it's a bmp file, it might help to change it to a jpg file instead.

Okay, I'm going to attempt to use my new Flickr account to post a picture!

Okay, this isn't working right...how do you all manage to get the visible picture into your posts???

I have used a Flickr account for several years now. Love it! I get several sizes of my photos available for posting. And I can link to my photo, or post the actual photo into any online venue.

Here's how to post Flickr photos into the Bernat Forum.

First, open up the page for the photo you want to share. Then click "Share"

Next, click "Grab the HTML/BBCode" and select the "Medium 500" size photo.

Then, you need to click the "BBCode" button underneath your photo.
And then, click within the big code box to highlight it. Now, click the "Ctrl & C" buttons on your computer keyboard. (This will copy the code to your computer's clipboard.)

Last, go to the Bernat Forum, and start your post. Then, while typing in the posting box, click "Ctrl-V" to insert the code for the photo.

After you submit your post, you will see the photo there! Ta Daa!

The other option with posting your Flickr photo would be to just add the link to your photo, using the "Img" button here in the forum.

To do that, open your photo page in Flickr, click "Share" like you did before, then click "Grab the Link".

Next, click that small box to highlight the link code, and click "Ctrl-C" on your computer keyboard to copy it.

Then, come to the forum, and make your post. As you type your post, click the "Img" above the entry area.

Next, click "Ctrl & V" on your computer keyboard to paste the link between the "img" brackets.
