Thank you mittenmaker and Shandeh. Wow, just three more sleeps!! Now I am knitting a scarf with Bernat knit and knot. I love it! I also bought one ball of bernat today (the off-white colour). I am starting to like knitting as much as crocheting so I definately want to participate in the KAL as well as the CAL. I don't think I have knitted so many projects in a row in my life! It is an excellent craft. It can cure the rainy day blues, help with relaxation, and calm the nerves.

I meant Bernat waverly, not just bernat.

Hi Shandeh! Is tomorrow going to be your Monster's birthday? I can't wait to see it!
Well the movie was good--the first 3-D movie I have seen. I liked Natalie Portman's costumes best of all. :)
Happy Valentines Day! :inlove:

zhanie! :hellogoodbye: What is Bernat knit and knot? Is it like a novelty yarn? I have never seen it in yarn shops or stores like Jo-Ann or Michaels. . .I'm thinking novelty yarn, and I just wanted to share a story of my battle with "eyelash" yarn. To make a long story short, the Eyelash won. :tears: I had to abandon the project, which is unusual because I am a very determined and dedicated knitter! :knit: I tend to drop/gain/lose stitches when I attempt to knit with novelty yarn (this furry scarf was a simple stockinette 22- stitch thingy) --and when I tried to frog, I found it impossible. :ire: I rationalized that if I am not enjoying what I do, if I'm doing this for fun and love of the craft, which I am :cloud9: then I just have to accept that I have a tuff time with some yarns.
I like my good ol' 4 weight yarn best of all. I am currently working on a pillow in Bernat SV :D in Bronze. I chose to do what is called Andalusian stitch (k row 1; purl row 2, k1p1 row 3, p row 4.) Simple, but nice and elegant looking. I am enjoying it a lot so far. I was going to do Trinity stitch, but I wanted a quick project that I could just chill out with.
Please share pictures of your current projects! Happy Valentines Day! :inlove:

that andelusion stitch sounds nice. I'd like to see a picture of it, I don't know what a trinity stitch is, I am really a crocheter.

The scarf has eyelash in it. the knit and knot wool is shown on the bernat website, it is a variety of yarns that you tie together, i just kept knitting another one into the scarf. I bought it in Zellers here in Canada. I did drop stitches and pick them up later, and I may not have picked up them all correctly, but well enough to avoid unraveling. With this irregular yarn, you can't really detect mistakes, so you don't need to be too fussy. I love my scarf and havebeen wearing it all day. I'll post a picture when I have some makeup on and my hair looks decent. :D

That's the plan! He's still waiting in my knitting chair right now, wanting to be stuffed, so he can hug that little heart. :inlove: As soon as I finish moderating in here, I'm gonna finish him up. :crown:

Thank you Shandeh, for the links for the yarns and the YouTube video link! I feel more confident now, working with "boutique" type yarns. I loved all the Knit or Knot yarns! I really liked the Jessie. I will try a project with one of them.
The tutorials are very user-friendly and are easy to follow. I appreciate this resource!
Btw--in Michigan we say "Ber-nay" -- so it is pronounced "Ber-not" :)
Can't wait to see your monster! The Satin yarn is lovely. :inlove:
