looking for a crocheted, hanging kitchen towel

Talk about anything else knit or crochet.

looking for a crocheted, hanging kitchen towel

Postby nana23girls » Tue Feb 14, 2012 1:14 pm

I am looking for a pattern for a hanging kitchen towel. My grandmother used to make them by the hundreds when I was growing up but never had her show me how. My last one is pretty thread-bare now. It is made with a store-bought towel cut in half and a hanger is crocheted on the top. The hanger slips through a cabinet handle and is buttoned to keep it secure. I guess I should have paid more attention when I was younger!

link removed

I created this towel last year when I was in need of one. The pattern was written by me so it is a bit messy, I wrote it much the way I talk and I have no experience with writing patterns.

Maybe this will be of use to you.

These towels are way fancier than the ones my grandmother made. She would be impressed! Thank you! I will start on a few right after I start the mystery afghan

These are beautiful. I'll be making some of these after the CAL/KAL is over. It'll give me something to do for the last couple of months before we move into our new house. It'll be the perfect thing to give it a personal touch right away.

If you're looking for completely crocheted towels here are a few for you to take a look at as well

I've made the third one a couple times and it works up nicely!!! I've not tried the other 2 yet but I really like the open shell one.
