Hi zhanie! Thanks for the nice picture of you rocking your scarf! It's beautiful. :bravo: I really appreciate your advice about not being too concerned about little boo-boos (I call them bellybuttons) when working with eyelash. That scarf is Jessie, right? I probably will have to order from website--but only being about 1 hour west of Sarnia, maybe I can plan a yarn road trip! ;) (A passport or an enhanced drivers license is required to re-enter the US from Canada by land or sea--I don't have either right now :tears: )
I will take a photo of my Andalusian stitch pillow project--have abt 4" to go to complete one side of pillow. I'll share a photo of the Trinity stitch too--right now I gotta run, work on pillow a little more. :knit: Then I am going to bake Valentine treat. :inlove: I want to start making the Hoodie sweater for my dog--I think it will be a nice challenge. I have purchased the yarn--BSV in Honey. The color will look nice on Mr. Jingles--he is a black Cocker spaniel. :inlove: :inlove: :inlove:
I love the scarf--have a good day!

mittenmaker wrote:Thank you Shandeh, for the links for the yarns and the YouTube video link! I feel more confident now, working with "boutique" type yarns. I loved all the Knit or Knot yarns! I really liked the Jessie. I will try a project with one of them.
The tutorials are very user-friendly and are easy to follow. I appreciate this resource!
Btw--in Michigan we say "Ber-nay" -- so it is pronounced "Ber-not" :)
Can't wait to see your monster! The Satin yarn is lovely. :inlove:

You're welcome! :D

I've heard a few other people call Bernat "BerNAY". I always raise one eyebrow, and say, "It's BerNAT". They just ignore me. I try to tell them that I KNOW the pronunciation, since I work for the company, but I don't think they hear me. I guess my voice gets lost in the conversation or something.

Several months ago, I was at a local knitting get-together, and one of the ladies said, "Sandy, you remind me of someone." I told her, "well, I'm on the internet a lot....I blog for Bernat yarn." And she said, "OH! OH! You're SHANDEH!!" I just laughed and laughed. Several other people in the group said, "What?" And she just kept pointing at me, saying, "THAT'S SHANDEH from BerNAY!!!"

The funniest thing is that I had been going to that group for almost a year, and no one had ever put together that I was "Shandeh" before.

Thank you for your lovely complements:) Shandeh, I am anxiously awaiting the reveal of your monster. Mittenmaker, I want to make a sweater for my little shitzu/havanese cross. Perhaps I will look at yours first and copy you (again). I say "ber nay' and my children like to correct me and say it's ber nat! I guess I will have to tell them they're right! :D

Yeah, I'm waiting too....

I am a VERY slow knitter. Right now, he has two legs, and almost one arm. He will just be an EVERYDAY monster, I guess. Not just for Valentines. ;)

Shandeh, I enjoyed your reply to my post. I am glad I know the correct pronounciation--I will say "Ber NOT" now, and see if I get "corrected" ("Ber-Nay) Hope to see your monster soon!

Hi zhanie! Yep, your scarf is a work of art. Your pup sounds precious!
I'm flattered you would want to copy me  . . .I have to purchase size 6 36" circulars, which I think I will do tomorrow. . .not sure when I'll start the project. It definitely looks like a challenge, but that's how we grow :? :scared: Here is the address: bernat.com/pattern.php?PID=4149
I have made MJ 3 sweaters so far; I found a quick easy-peasie pattern in Goose Berry Patch "Oh So Easy Knits" (Leisure Arts.) Pattern calls for bulky weight yarn, (Softee Chunky comes to mind)
Have a great day! :knit: :hellogoodbye:

I knit the monster with Bernat Satin in Lavender. The heart was knit with Bernat Mosaic in Daydream.
