the gauge...way back you say the gauge is 18 sts & 23 rows with 5mm or needed. Now this clue 1 says 18sts & 32 rows with 5mm or needed. I can get the first with 5mm so for the clue 1 do i need to change my needles or can I still use 5mm. THANKS

The original gauge was in stocking stitch, this one is garter (it changes depending on the clue). You should be fine, but if you want to check your new gauage it won't hurt!

Hi
The blocking template doesn't seem to measure 9 1/2 x 9 1/2 as stated in the measurement page.

I hope my day at work goes fast .....can't wait to get home and start.
Am happy to see that Clue 1 is using more than one color, it will be nice to see how my colors look together.
And it reminded me that I didnt write down anywhere which of my colors goes with what letter...duh! lol

Good luck eveyone!

It depends on how large you print it out. You can also make a 9 1/2" x 9 1/2" square out of tape or cardboard - anything works!

I'm guessing that since it said to print the template 4 times, cut them out and tape them together as shown in the diagram below the template, that the 4 pieces taped together will make a 9 1/2 inch square.

But also, as someone else posted, you can make your own 9 1/2 inch square template out of paper, cardboard, etc.

The second tip in this thread's beginning post states: "When casting on one stitch, simply make a slipknot and use it as the stitch."

Then you do a knit, purl, & knit into that same stitch before finally taking the stitch off the left needle after the 2nd knit. At the end, you will have 3 stitches on the right needle.
