Crochet-Along Clue 1

So glad this is a day off. Have 3 squares made in MC, think I'll change colors and come back to the Antique. Loving how this yarn is working up

I found that on row 3 instead of starting with a ch.3 I slipstitch in ch.1 space instead then do ch.3 I think it looks better that way

Loving this already. Never knew how to use or read a chart before, the tutorial was easy to understand and even though I will still read the text, it's great to know how. Already started my first square. Thanks. jmb

This is my first CAL too! I've done KAL's before but neither have been mysteries. I love how we can do this together through forums! I am grabbing my yarn and hook and a cup of coffee and hitting the first clue running! I love how i have no idea what i'm doing Cheers all!

I am so excited for Clue one I had hoped to bring my yarn to work but I have to work on a baby blanket as well so clue one will have to wait till I get home. I really enjoyed that last CAL and have a friend who is a newbie joining me this time. Since we are using decorator yarns I decided to base my colors off of a painting I have in my living room of betsy Ross and the ladies sewing the first american flag

If you use Bernat Softee Chunky your blanket will be much larger and you'll need considerably more yarn. I'd recommend using an aran-weight or worsted-weight yarn such as Waverly for Bernat or Bernat Super Value.

I have finished a square also. After seeing the one someone else did I think mine will look good when blocked.
My blocking template came out big like someone else mentioned. If I can't figure out how to correct, I will block to the measurments indicated.

I just finished one. Of course I haven't blocked it yet, so it looks a little wonky to me, with the large corner holes. I suppose that will correct with blocking.

Everything will look great when the motifs are joined at the end of the CAL. The pieces will pull each other into shape, with the seaming.
