Crochet-Along Clue 1: Spoilers and Photos

Oh my goodness! I just stopped in at lunchtime to see the clues and some are already finished! Yikes - this is very motivational!

I will begin tonight but I'm glad I have a week!

I am new to crocheting in the past 6 months. So forgive me if my questions seem odd. Mine is not big enough to fit the template. it is about a half an inch too small all around. During the gauge test I had to go up to an 8 hook. Should I try going up to a 9 or leave it be?

Well....finished my first square finally after miscounting the first time around. When i did my gauge, i found i needed to go to smaller hook (size g), however this square seems a bit small. Should i stick with this size, or go back to H hook? I am new to crocheting and CAL, so any suggestions are welcome

I have a few made. my squares are a little smaller then the block, which works for me in the long run if my nieces take the afghan.

I'm a bit of an over achiever...

I used Loops and Threads Yarn in Fern, Cadet, Butterscotch, and Aqua. My other color is white for this afghan.

Try using the larger hook, and see how one square turns out.
