I have crocheted for 15 years or so. I'm doing the CAL, but I decided I wanted to improve my knitting skills. I'm very much a beginner. I've only ever made dishcloths and only a handful of those. I decided to work in the KAL along with the CAL so I can improve my knitting skills. I'm happy to report that already my increases have improved. I'm not even done with the first square yet! :cloud9: It's slow going (I finished the CAL clue in less than two hours), but I'm feeling good even though the square isn't looking so hot. They will improve though. I know it!

You'll put all three stitches into the one loop on your needle. Knit one into the slip knot, then bring your yarn to the other side and purl into the same stitch (without removing any loops from the left needle). Then put the yarn in the front again and knit into the same stitch. Once that's done, you can pull the loop off the left hand needle.

Ok so after getting the 1 st stitch going I'm rolling, only thing it says to do the 2 rows 24 times and all I had was 31 stitches and it says it should have 55.... so I thought then I have to keep going and that the 2 rows would count as 1 am I getting this right... don't you love the questions. thanks

I take the repeat the 2 rows 24 times to mean that I will be doing a total of 48 rows for that instruction.

This video shows how to knit, purl, knit - all in one stitch.

one quick question, though, on which colors would work best. i hadn't decided which were B, C, or D, so now i'm stuck trying to decide before i cast on!

i have Aqua Frost, Greek Sea, and Butter (all from Simplicity). would it be best to choose Butter as B so that each square has a similar contrast? or maybe Aqua Frost as B, where half the squares will be subtle and half will be a stark contrast?

Once you figure that out, can you let me know? I lost the sheet where I labeled all my colors! :idonno: But I have the same colors, so I figure I'll just let you decide so I don't have to!

I've chosen almost exactly the same colors! Please be sure you both post pictures and I will too! It will be fun to see how they turn out differently even with the same color schemes! :hellogoodbye:
Did I say that out loud?
