What's for Dinner?

Postby Shandeh » Wed Feb 15, 2012 11:37 pm

I've seen where some forums share their favorite recipes.

I have decided to do something a little different.
Let's share what we are having for dinner every night!

Tonight, I made healthy spaghetti.
I used ground turkey instead of ground beef. I added onions and mushrooms to the meat after it was browned, along with some Old Bay Seasoning, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Then, I stirred in a large jar of spaghetti sauce. The spaghetti noodles were whole wheat.

It was yummy!

What was your dinner tonight?

When I did the mystery cal in 2010, every Wed became crockpot day. So it was fun to figure out what I would put into it for supper that evening and then had the day free for crochet and would still have a nice hot supper without the worry of stopping to cook when all I wanted to do was crochet all day. Although this year on the first day of the clue I was unable to get started as I was out of town most of the day. But I will catch up and will resume the crockpot tradition on Wed starting next week with clue number 2!!!!!!!!! :)

Do you have any ideas yet about what you'll be making next week?

Try adding worcestershire (spelled right on the first try!) sauce to the meat when it's browned, it adds an entire extra experience :D

I am a vegetarian and do not eat chicken, nor fish either. But I do enjoy many types of food, and do eat dairy products and eggs. I happen to be helping out at small farm for a few weeks so last night I had fried fresh egg omelet and some toast but did not get to eat until 10 PM. Usually I make a gallon of yogurt every week but have been too busy this week. Usually for my dessert I strain some of that yogurt through coffee filter for a while, then top with honey. I really missed that last night!

I did a Reboot Diet recently, eating just fruits and veggies. I felt so energized!

But, I am a carnivore, through and through. I must have my meat. Sorry!

Looks like we are having Fish sandwiches for dinner tonight. Been craving them and it seems like a easy dinner on this rainy evening.

I have to admit, my husband does most of the cooking. :scared: He loves to cook so who am I to argue? :idonno:

Hi dogfoster! First of all, Thank You and God Bless you and the pets you rescue!
I'm veg too, since autumn 1996. I do dairy and eggs--usually Egg Beaters. Last night's dinner was whole-wheat angel hair with black olive and mushroom marinara. Tonight's dinner is Pasta Fazool, which is my silly name for the leftover pasta, covered with the leftover sauce and topped with tons of Mozzarella. I make a lot of pasta and sauce so I get 2 meals out of it. Makes for an EASY dinner the next night!! :D
Mr Jingles (see Pets topic in this forum) came into my life and heart from a guaranteed-placement (I cannot bring myself to say "no-k---" :tears: ) rescue. I know he was meant just for me.
Your homemade yogurt sounds yummo! Is it kinda like Greek yogurt?

Actually I have 2 kinds of menu, one for us, and another, when one of my daughter in law come over. She is allergic to gluten. for those who don't know what that is, (like me at first) that means she cannot eat wheat. (that is bread, cake, pasta etc) If you look closely to the ingredients, there is wheat everywhere, even in the beef broth or chicken broth. When we are having spaghetti night I have to buy corn noodles for her. We are now use to it, so it is not a problem anymore. so tonight it is lasagna Mmmmmmmmm.
