I have gotten to where I should (and do) have 70 shells. Now when I go to do the next part: Next rnd: Sl st in next: (Ch-1 sp, Dc, Ch-1 sp). Beg shell. (Shell in center
ch-1 sp of next shell) 3-(5-6-8) times. *Ch 5 (5-7-9). Miss next 7 (12-14-
18) shells.* (Shell in center ch-1 sp of next shell) 7 (12-13-17) times. Rep
from * to * once more. (Shell in center ch-1 sp of next shell) 3 (6-6-8)
times. Join with sl st to 3rd ch of beg ch 4.
it doesn't work out right for some reason. ANYONE can you help me get this figured out? I think this is the part where the armholes are made if that helps.
Thanks!!

OK, hopefully I’m seeing your picture correctly, and you are crocheting the second row of shells between the first row of shells? Each shell in the next rows should be crocheted in the centre space of each shell in the preceding row. So, each shell is kind of split in half when you crochet the next row. Also there’s a series of shells that need to be skipped (or missed) and you should just chain past them in order to leave an arm hole. I’ll post a couple of close up pics; one of the shells on top of shells, the other of what the arm holes look like. I hope I’ve helped a bit.
