Favorite Bernat Yarn

Postby Jen » Wed Jan 04, 2012 11:03 am

Do you like the fun chunky yarns like Bernat Twist & Twirl and Bernat Colorama?

Or maybe you like to keep things soft and colorful with Bernat Super Value or Bernat Satin?

Do baby yarns like Bernat Softee Baby or Bernat Baby Coordinates make you gaga?

Let us know what Bernat yarns you like and why!!

I :inlove: L O V E :inlove: some of the new yarns.

Fab Faux looks and feels DIVINE! I made a cowl with it, and wore it last week. Almost everyone I passed took a second glance my way. It just looks so rich and luxurious....like real fur! I felt like a queen. :crown:

Bernat Really Big is GORGEOUS! :o
I just love knitting with it.

And Colorama really took me by surprise. I was expecting it to be a sturdy yarn, but it's actually very delicate, soft, and wonderful to work with. I couldn't keep my hands off Colorama! I just wanted to squish and squeeze it forever!

Cottontots for softness and beautiful, unusual colors; Mosaic for great texture and fabulous, sophisticated colors; Satin for the full range of colors and durability -- I made the knit Mystery Afghan in Satin a couple of years ago; it has been washed often and doesn't pill or look worn at all. There's also an alpaca blend that's soft but has surprisingly good stitch definition -- I like all the Bernat yarns I've tried.

txcatgirl, I'm glad to hear that Satin stands up so well! I'm currently knitting a baby blanket with it. So soft! And the colors are wonderful!

Hi, I'm new here and I just wanted to say good afternoon! :knit: :hellogoodbye:
I like Bernat Super Value, because it's a great value. I have been knitting about 2 years and 4 months, and I have used miles of BSV. For my first sweater project, I have selected BSV in Rouge. . .I am just bonkers for that color! Wish me luck!! Have a good Saturday everyone!

For me it's a toss up between Mosaic and Felting Natural Wool.

I'm a felting fiend. :cloud9:

I love Bernat Baby yarns. The colors are so soft and the yarn is also very soft. It is a pleasure to work with and washes well. Love Bernat yarns.

OMG! How to pick!
I love Bamboo for it's incredible softness.
I love Corn for it's softness.
I love Handicrafter Cotton for it's power to wash dishes once made into a dishcloth.
I love Satin for it's silky texture. I have several bins full of Satin.
I love new Waverly for it's incredible softness.
I love Softee Baby for it's softness.
Basically, I love a nice soft yarn that runs through my fingers and doesn't hurt after working with it for awhile.
With the way I hold yarn I do find that Handicrafter Cotton will hurt if I use it too long at once, but you cannot make a dishcloth without cotton! I love my handmade dishcloths! Did you know nothing will clean tea stains off a cup better than a cotton dishcloth and a tiny bit of elbow grease? Bleach is the only thing that works better and since I cannot use bleach I use cotton! I could never imagine making a full blanket using handicrafter, it's just too rough for my liking.

I am lucky enough to live close enough to Bernat's factory in Listowel that I can get there for their tent sales, which is how I discovered some of the other awesome yarns they have. I cannot afford regular store prices, but the tent sale prices are to die for!

Shandeh, that is a stunning cowl! After looking at the Knit or Knot yarns, I went back to your photo of the Fab Faux cowl and clicked on the link. I really like that yarn too--it seems to be more of a plush type yarn. It looks like you used "Shearling" for your creation?
