I started working my motifs last night and about half way through I noticed the top of my forearms started to develop red patches. By the time I finished the 10th one I had to stop cause there were raised red welts and starting to become uncomfortable. Upon waking this morning they are still there
Anyone else have this problem or experience with this? I don't crochet often but jumped back in to do this CAL. This has happened to me before unfortunately
And just an added note...I am NOT using Bernat yarn for this project!!

Sounds and looks to me like you might be allergic to the dyes or other chemicals in the yarns, not the yarns thems elves. When I buy new clothes, I have to wash them before wearing because of the chemicals. If I don't, I end up with the same rashes/welts as what was showing in your picture.
I would suggest purchasing some rubber/plastic gloves like the kind for washing dishes, then cut the finger tips off.
