(yes i just learned to knit a week ago). So i used my a.c.moore coupon and got awesome bamboo needles and they are so lightweight and. . . awesome!!!! Wow those others were impeding my knit-along progress!! Totally inspiring!! :-)

Cool! Every knitter has to try new things, to see what makes them purr. I love knitting with vintage plastic needles. They are so smooth, and my projects just fly on them.

Not so confusing ---when I am on the navy needle I know to increase or decrease.
If I am using the baby blue-- I KNIT.

I used to do that exact same thing! I remember the first time I was learning stockinette stitch. (Knit one row, then purl one row.) I kept getting them mixed up. I wasn't used to watching the fabric be created, so I had no idea which was the knit side, and which was the purl side. So, I used to use a PINK needle on the PURL side. It helped me so much.

Now, I don't need to do it anymore, because I've learned to recognize the look of the front and back of knit and purl stitches. Experience really helps with knitting. That's why I have learned to be patient with beginning knitters. They are seeing all these things for the very first time. It's a lot of different stitches, and it takes a while for them to become automatic.

Every knitter has a trick to help them learn everything. It's awesome to see the creative things everyone comes up with.

I am stealing that great idea of using two different colors for increase rows and knit rows!! :-)
Also-i wonder if i can knit a normal square instead of a diamond to avoid increasing & decreasing thus making squares faster. Or might that be a cop-out lol

GOOD LUCK TO ALL MY KNITTER FRIENDS OUT THERE IN KNITTING LAND. IS ANYONE ELSE A YARNACHOLIC LIKE ME? GET ME TO THE LOCAL CRAFT STORE AND I AUTOMATICALLY HEAD (LIKE A MAGNET) TO THE YARN JUST TO SEE WHATS NEW AND I NEVER NEVER GO HOME EMPTY HANDED. OH WELL, TILL NEXT TIME. GOTTA GET THOSE NEEDLES GOING NANCY

:notworthy: Oh yes, absolutely, I am way as bad about going straight to the yarn area. Sometimes I have to ban myself from going to those stores at all because I have to deplete what I have first :knit: Happy knitting to you. I am doing the crochet along as I do not feel experienced enough to do the knit one just yet. I came to the knit along to see if it might be something I could try later. We shall see. DK

That sure is a comfy guy in your lap!

What a lovely photo~!! with me , it's the dog..lol.

Haha! Well, first it was my son, and then the cat came and got comfy in my lap and got its hind feet tangled in the yarn! I knitted all day today and got two squares done! Up to 5. Whew! It helps to take breaks to see all the photos and read the anecdotes. Tomorrow will be another long day for 2 and then I'll just have one left for the work week until Wednesday.

Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous colours! What are the other two? Are you a speed knitter? I'm still plugging away and start square 6 tomorrow. Can't wait to do a different pattern though, as the continuous Knit stitch is getting to me. I caught myself a couple of times wanting to purl back on the return row out of habit.

Pardon my laziness, but I am 5 weeks away from my due date and it is hard to get out of the recliner! For any that remember, I am a new new newbie to knitting. I am using the Waverly for my CAL but I am using stash for the KAL since I haven't ever knit an actual item. Here is my first square!

Done with 2 now starting my 3rd. I doubt I'll have all 8 done by Wed., but I'm going to keep knitting. What do you think, should I start the new one on Wed. even if I have a few more of the first clue to do then when I finish that come back, or just keep going on 1 until I'm done? Don't know which to do.

Now I am going to try to post my pic. I tried all day yesterday, but my computer would not let me.

Yea! it worked!

Love those colours together! :bravo:
Sounds like the Recliner is a good place to be and what a great reason to sit and knit!
