I think I read somewhere that Shandeh says we need to make them on the diagonal for the design to turn out right. On the diagonal, the color change goes from corner to corner. If you did 2 colors on a square, the color change wouldn't do that. It would just split the square in half. But don't despair!

I'm still working on my second one. I've had lots of trouble with gauge! I knit three squares and had to rip 2 of them apart because one was way to big and one way to small!
I also read somewhere that Shandeh says we will have at least a week or two extra, after all the clues have been given, so we can get caught up if needed. So we can finish Clue 1 after Clue 8 if we need to. Besides, the more you knit Clue 1, the easier it'll get!! Happy knitting!
