There are some others who will be out of town when the KAL starts. They have asked the same question, and you can see answers there: viewtopic.php?f=191&t=1507

:knit: How long will I need to plan to KAL so that I can keep up with this project and not create a new UFO!! I am teaching full time and trying to finish this for my son's wedding present. I am a real Type A person so I want to get it into my calendar each week. Today I am trying to finish the gauge swatch.

The clues will be released every week until April. I believe the KAL is 15 weeks long.

But, it will probably take me longer than that to finish mine. I'm such a slow poke.

I can't wait to get started. I heard about the Bernat mystery knit a couple of years ago, as one of my friends was part way through one. It sounded so intriguing! I must admit that I have a habit of starting projects and not finishing, so hopefully knitting with a "group" will keep me on track. I have my wool picked out and finished a small "project" with my needles, so I am ready to go! :bravo:

This is my first KAL and I have been know to take forever to finish an afghan, so I am really looking forward to this mystery afghan. I am hoping that knitting with a group will help keep me on track. I CAN"T WAIT UNTIL WEDNESDAY! :D

Hi!!! :hellogoodbye:yeah well i guess u have to be pretty brave to spend money on a ton of yarn and spend time on a big project like a blanket without knowing what it looks like so thumbs up to u!!!!:-) for my colors i picked princess for my main, fresh flower, breath of blue, blue gown, and mauve glow for my least. So its kind of a pink and blue thing, but i am a pink girl!!! :-)

The two blankets are completely different. They're both worked in motifs, but the results look nothing alike. The crochet pattern can be considered more "feminine," but the knit blanket is gender-neutral.

Thanks for the feedback. I am doing the KAL with two of my nieces who live in Texas (I live in Florida) and my sister (who lives in NY) is doing the CAL. I found the first clue very easy to get done (I speed knit while watching tv) and loved the results. I did the CAL last year and had to block each and every square. Thankfully my knitting is much more consistent and all my 8 squares came out pretty much spot on 9.5". Hopefully this week's clue is a tad more intricate! But either way, I'm anxious for Tuesday 10am to arrive with Clue#2! :cloud9:
