Anyone live near Listowell Ontario?

Postby karenarp » Wed Feb 22, 2012 10:10 am

Curious how many live close enough to Bernat (Yarn Factory Outlet - YFO) they will be heading there next week (February 27 - March 10) for their huge wonderful amazing sale! It is about an hour and a half drive for me but my husband is already planning our trip up. If you do live within the vicinity and do not get the YFO newsletter then you really should subscribe and be in on the amazing deals they sometimes offer. You can only get them in person sadly.

In case any one who lived close enough wondered how grand the sale really was, here is a photo of my haul from today, All this for only $81.00!! The colour selection was very nice for discontinued colours! I picked up enough yarn to make last time's CAL (plus some extra) and who knows what else I will make with all this yarn.
My hubby wanted the baby's Breath as soon as he felt it. OMG that stuff is like its name, a baby's breathing, so light and airy and soft. And only $5 a ball, plus it was on the buy 3 get one free. So only $15 for 4 giant balls!
So if you need yarn to build your stash, if you live close enough, get your butt over to Listowell. We drove just over an hour and a half to get there, and it was worth it! I did pick up a brand new set of large eye needles so next time the one I am using now becomes non-slippery I can replace it without thinking it is a waste
24 balls Softee Chunky for $30

We were their last Monday, the first day of the sale. It was crazy. I bought Bernat Satin, Tent Yarn, Baby Coordinates, Paton's Decor and Astra. I did the buy 3 packages get 1 free on each - so 4 X 6 balls Satin, 4 X 5 Tent Yarn, 4 X 3 Coordinates, 4 X 6 Decor and 4 X 10 Astra. It was so busy and hot in there, I had to leave before I was finished. I'm planning to go back on Wednesday. :-)

Big Ball Bonanza

Postby karenarp » Thu May 24, 2012 8:21 pm

Big Ball Bonanza

Argh! Spinrite is trying to make me go mad! Mad insane I tell ya! There were so many choices for so little, I had a hard time deciding and limiting myself to what I did end up with!

I love these big balls!
I have so many ideas on what to make. So now to finish the afghans I have going right now then I can get started on these balls!
I have to make a dent in my yarn inventory so I can have room for their next big tent sale in August!

(sadly, they had none of the new Waverly colours. I am very very sad indeed about that, though I think my husband isn't sad, saved his pocketbook by not having them in stock!

I even got a little 'something something' for telling them I was coming! I love freebies!

I did forget to mention I met 'Mikey'! I was at the cash and he was near and he spotted my Mermaid tears purse and came over and we chatted a bit! They had a eensy problem ringing me out so it took awhile.
It was a lot of fun! I strongly urge anyone who lives near there to head on over. And if you go to fb first and let them know you are coming on the event page then make sure they know when you are there they will give you a little 'something something'!
