Crochet-Along Clue 1: Spoilers and Photos

First time doing a CAL and I love it. Can't wait until the second clue comes out! I have been trying to attach a picture but can't figure out how to do it.

Finished all 12 squares for the first clue, including blocking them so I don't have a ton of wonky squares to try to block or just stitch together at the end. Now it's time to get started on the KAL

two questions: one, how did you block them, and two, I've been told by fabulous knitters (including one who just had an original design published in Vogue Knitting) that only natural fibers can be blocked. So, how does one block acrylic, a synthetic fiber?

When we block acrylic work, it just makes them lay a little flatter.
It doesn't make a dramatic difference, the way that blocking wool does.
It just makes everything look a little nicer.

I am sooooooo disgusted with Flickr! I can't open my account - due to technical difficulties, can't start a new one - due to technical difficulties, and can't get them to tell me why - due to technical difficulties. Go figure!

So anyway, I am excited about the way my CAL is looking with colors out of my happy zone. I love all the pictures that ahve been posted here and can't wait to get the new clue, in 19 minutes!@

I use Photobucket works like a charm!

I've been using Flickr for several years now. No problems ever.
It must just be a glitch in the system today.

Hooray, my yarn finally arrived yesterday!! Been crocheting like a fiend all day but at least I'm finished!!

This is fun! Now I get to check out the second clue...I was sooo dying to peek.

I'm just loving seeing everyone's color pallettes. I have finished the first clue but need to drag out my camera to take a picture of my progress so far. I will be starting the second clue tonight. Can't wait to get going again!
