Making BOTH Blankets!

I am making two - one CAL and one KAL! two differnt colourways for each afghan. Love this wool, incredibly soft! I'm great at starting and getting half way through projects and hoping that I'll be able to finish these in a timely fashion by keeping up with the week by week clues!

I am doing the KAL and the CAL. I am still working on my KAL clue number one! (almost ready for clue two). I adore the motif for the CAL motif this week and I have two beginner friends who are keeping up beautifully with the CAL with not that much help from me. One of my friends said that she has never picked up a crochet hook in her life!! You wouldn't know it. This week's motif is quite impressive, no one believes me when I tell them that two beginners have already made one.

I finished clue 1 for my 2nd CAL. Now on to clue 2 for both. I have already made one so that means only 11 to go !!! yikes!!

I am possibly doing two. I was unable to order the yarn right away so decided to start with yarn in my stash. I did the first clue in yarn from my stash and have since been able to order the yarn that is called for so will be doing the 1st clue again when it arrives. Therefore, I may just wind up continuing also with the first yarn I was using. We shall see how motivated I am! LOL I have several other projects going at the same time so I am not sure I have the time to make two.

I'm doing two. One for my 7yo daughter (in Waverly) and one for me (not in Waverly). I thought about really challenging myself and doing the KAL but I think I'll wait on that for a bit. I'm printing the clues out though.

After hearing others say they were doing two afghans, I decided to start a second one, this time using Waverly yarn. My colors are:
MC - Turtle Green
A - Celadon
B - Sundrift
C - Antique
D - Stone Brown

My JoAnn's only had a few Waverly colors, so I will be ordering two skiens, one each of Turtle Green and Stone Brown. I will upload a picture later (when I am on my computer, not my iPad) to show off the colors.

Like everyone else, I decided to make another after doing the first clue. My first one is color coordinated to a pillow I have on the couch.
(MC-sundrift, A-willow, B-porcelain red, C-gypsy gold, D-blue gown)

the second is for my vacation home living room.
(MC-birch, A-cadet, B-Tibetan red, C-celadon, D-gypsy gold)

I am slowly caving into the temptations for making a second blanket... At the rate it is snowing, work will be very quiet for awhile... I am going to hold off and wait for the next couple of clues though, to see how time consuming and challenging this gets.

I am making this years CAL and also starting the last CAL (2010) to fill in the times that I am not working on these clues.
