It is lovely :bravo: I have always liked those rippley knitted designs but never had the confidence to try. Perhaps after the KAL I will have more confidence. Nice colour choice too!

This is really working up quite nicely. Thank you all for your uplifting comments! This is what my afghan looks like now after the first 16 days of knitting.

This is very beautiful! My granddaughter wants me to make a blanket for her. She wants "princess colors" which means mostly pink, some yellow and lavenders, maybe some pale blue. I asked if she wanted flowers or stripes, and she said she wanted it to look like rainbow. So I'm thinking something like this, if I can find a crochet pattern that is similar. I haven't knitted in years, and was never really very good at it. Also want something that works up kind of fast. Anyone have any suggestions?

Hi linda2012! Thanks! I found a free pattern on bernat.com for a similar crocheted afghan. It is called "Baby Coordinates - Wavy Ripple Blanket (crochet)" . You may need to adjust the size, as it is written for a baby blanket, but the end result is very similar to the stepping waves knitted afghan. Hope it works out for you!

Oh thanks! I like this pattern. Different yarn, adjust the size, and I think it would be the perfect princess blanket for a 4-1/2 year old to snuggle under.

Thanks mittenmaker & tanya! The colors have a very calming effect. I can already picture myself asleep under this blanket on my couch! :D
